Yes, that's Lisa. She hasn't been to the past 3 or 4 Blanchard auctions but usually sits with us and Sam and/or Jack. She's a really sweet lady. I know she had quite a few cats, several horses & goats, dogs, and chickens.

Gosh, I don't know what I'd do if I had to evacuate for a fire ... grab the cats & dogs I guess ... maybe throw some chicks in a box ... I know I'd be trying to save the lives of the critters before trying to save anything material in the house. I 'd be trying to get all 6 dogs and 5 cats and 300+ chickens in our pickup.

City- THANKS... I am trying to figure out what I want and don't want right now. What do you think the odds are that I would get pairs of almost every breed I got? I have a Spitzhauben pair, a buttercup pair, EE pairs (btw the EE roos are a bit crazy and territorial or so it seems), Banty cochin pair etc... I am not really sure how I did it but, I did.

Now, since I have no need to have pairs I will have to liquidate. I love my buttercup roo he is so sweet and gentle. I open up the brooder box to peek and he flies up to me and lands on my arm and just hangs out. I love that little guy. I really like the barred coching bantam too, she follows me around like a dog, it is so cute.

Does anyone know when Polish develop their horn combs so I can sex them? They are 6 weeks and I am totally stumped. I also think I have 2 hermaphrodite EE's I can't tell if they are male or female the combs look female but, they bump chests and stomp the other chickens.

City- I want to go but, I will have to call in. Our schedules at work are made a month in advance and I did not know to ask for the day off.

Monty, as soon as you find out what she needs PLEASE post so we can make plans to bring her stuff to POOPS.
I know she probably won't be ready for birds anytime soon but we can do towels, soap, and household items.
When she IS ready for birds, I have bantam black wyandottes, bantam RIR, bantam cochin, and bantam brown leghorns. No tophats though.

Maybe we could donate the raffle money to a fire relief fund.

Andis- I am not for sure about the polish comb,but as soon as their feathers are out on the top you can tell the difference. The males will have slender pointed head feathers,the pullets will have wider and more round tipped feathers.
I went to a swap this past weekend and found a quqd of silver seabrights for $35. By the time I found my wife and got the money they were gone! Now I know why she carries the money!Saw a beautiful trio of white topknot ducks for $40 but I figured it wouldn't be good to both sexes with topknots.

I got rid of all the eggs in the bator that I thought weren't any good....I cracked a couple, they weren't any good. CAn't wait for POOPS, I will spend too much money and have new eggs to hatch! I keep thinking I should make a list of wants but I want everything! Silkies are at the top of my list!!
