Big Renassiance fair fan, anyone looking for a great time should show up at the castle of Muskogee any weekend in May. Cold beer and smoked turkey legs are plentiful. I HIGHLY recommend paying the extra 10-12$ (depending on if its saturday or sunday) and goign to the kings smoker, its 21+ and welllllllll worth your time if you have a sense of humor.

OK I did it................I figured out how to boil, peel FRESH just laid eggs.

This is what I did.................boiled about 4 cups of water, washed the eggs that were going into the pot, added them once the water came to a slow rolling boil, added more tap water to make 1 inch above eggs,once started boiling again put, timer on for 18 minutes then immediately put said eggs into cold tap water(while I searched the web for the lady that sang a song written by Willie) let set for 5 minutes then peeled and POOF egg shell slid right off.

henny- It was I that said my EE roos were a bit mean. I don't know if it is just typical roo stuff or not since this is my first chicken experience. So far I have a SLW, Frizzle, White Leghorn and 3 EE roos, and a buttercup. The EE's are way meaner then the other group. The will chase me when I go into the coop like run at my feet (perhaps that's a greeting?) But they constantly stomp on and bump the other chickens while flapping their wings. Please tell me if this is typical because I don't know how a Rooster acts.

Secondly, Amen to the gardening in CA... Oh how I miss sunny SOCAL... Orange Blossoms wafting through the air, an abundance of fresh avocado and San Diego 50 miles down the road....

Ronnie - Would offer to bring you leftovers....but I'll be riding
with TJ and Pa-Pa.........They have been known to "let" me
drive while they "snack".......LOL

Did get confirmation today that the ice maker is on the way.
Now, if it'll work like they say, should be able to keep up
with several ice chests down at POOPS. I usually freeze up
some big globs in empty butter tubs when we're planning to
go to the lake and they last quite a while, too.

Sounds like we're lookin' at another soggy weekend. Surely
the "next" weekend will be beautiful.
