Kiddos? I'm bringing a supply of the "Glow Sticks" for when
it gets dark. I try to keep a supply of them for going to the
lake. Helps keep track of the little monsters.

And, Neecy, I got to thinkin'.....Bill bought me a big fryer deal
about three years ago. I had never plugged it in. It's not big,
like a turkey fryer, but bigger than my Fry Daddy. I got it out
last night and plugged 'er in and boiled eggs in it. Worked like
a charm. And, btw, thanks to those that suggested putting
the salt in the water....made a world of difference. I'll bring
this thing and we can just plug 'er in out at the picnic table
and boil the eggs and kick back in a lawn chair and save the
pots.....Given a choice, I'll take the easy way every time.

By Friday, I should have plenty of eggs for deviling, too.

Yup, we're gettin' a little excited about this deal.

Have a good one !

That does look like you load of wood though, doesn't it? Mesquite, believe it or not, will grow out here if it gets a little. It's the 'black helicopters' from Nellis and that 'hidden base' that you have to worry about.

Stimp, you might want to mix it up and try cement bag before you step up to the 100#, they're only 90#. You wouldn't want to pull anything.

I am way excited! My boys are asking questions and seem excited! I will bring some quail eggs to make y'all cuss during the deviling!

My stacking isn't that artistic! Heck my last stack fell over...I might have had a little help...I stress the little part! About 4' help!

Stimp - do you put Mayo and Tabasco on your grilled cheese? Cuz that makes it good

This no burn thing is a bummer. Double check if you would and holler! i will remove the burn wood and make more room for...stuff

Teach, Shaun was asking how old your boys are.

Ke-ben That is the coolest picture of the wood!! My BIL cuts and sells wood I will have to get him to try that!!

NaNa That sound GREAT! on the pot thing. That way we can listen to the men folk and entertain ouselves.

My boys are 9 and 7. The younger one out weighs the older one. The older one thinks faster though so they are fairly evenly matched! Just don't get in their way come dinner time! Chow hounds! 4 pancakes last night each!

Teach, I won't know for sure about the burn ban until Wednesday after the county officials meet.
We have had at least four inches of rain since the big fires but I think everyone is being cautious. It is probably political as much as anything else. Anyway I'll let you know when I know.

It sounds like there will be plenty of kids running around.

Does anyone like mushrooms, just the plain ol' white ones. I kinda know someone that could get us a few pound if anyone is interested in eatin' em. Personally I don't eat them, I LOVE them cuz' they pay the bills but I don't want to eat them, but glad others do.

Stimp - you are showing your age! They haven't had c-rats in awhile! They are MREs now! They include a little jar of tabasco in the package now! The crackers are horrible still...I think they still have a surplus of hard tack from the Civil War

Yes add the mushrooms sauteed in garlic and butter. Why is it I always get hungry when I logon?

I usually go for just plain old bulk american cheese (cheap), but have you ever tried Havarti? I think that is the name of it, man it is good.
