If you have older sons you should have brought them anyway (unless they rebelliously don't like chickens

)!
And, I think I forgot to thank you for ringing that big 'ol bell for me... I don't think I was being heard until then... too much chicken-talking going on

P & B - Thanks - Where is this building? Is it in the main
complex or somewhere else? We're planning to spend a
couple of days and take the kids to the capitol, the zoo,
the Memorial, etc., while we're down there.

Like Bill says, I'm the only person he knows that can get lost
in the bathtub. What would be a main drag near where this
class is?

Have a good one !

Donna,
It sounds like you got those incubators just in time! I hope they work well for you

Did you say you were using them in school?

TJ's Na-Na :

In trying to put a "fall POOPS" together, we'll have to do some
checking as to when all these county fairs, state fairs, etc. will
be. I know there'll be a large show at Pryor this fall, there's
a big show at Fayetteville the 7th of November, and of course,
Shawnee will be the middle of December. I think the Tulsa
Fair is the last week in September and the first week of October.
Not sure about Fort Smith, and don't know about Oklahoma City.
But, the county fairs will start the first of September. So,
y'all that will be showing birds, see what you can find out.

Have a good one !

Oh my goodness!! I was only thinking about avoiding "big boy football game" weekends as sred mentioned. I forgot all about the State and county fairs.
The State Fair in Oklahoma City doesn't have a poultry show, but I will have some obligation to work in the booth for the beekeepers during the fair. The OKC State fair is Sept 17 - 27
The Tulsa State Fair has a poultry show and is Oct 1 - 11

I did a search for "fairs" during Sept 2 to November 28 and there were over 100 listed, although most of them were art and crafts events. There are also a lot of County Free Fairs during that time frame.

We also need to check the hunting seasons - if we get into October and November, we need to work around those also

The classes will be held at the Department of Agriculture, which is on Lincoln Blvd, a few blocks north of the Capitol. When you are in the Department of Ag parking lot, you will be able to see the Capitol and the History Museum.

You will not be very far from the zoo (NE 50th and Eastern - about 4 miles from the Capitol) and to the West of the Capitol is downtown OKC, where the Bombing Memorial is located at NE 5th and Harvey.... again, within 5 miles of the Capitol.

We can probably enlist PaPa Dean to be your tour guide, if you are willing to put up with a couple of more grandchildren.

You might consider the Lexington auction on Monday night, the 22nd.
