Let me know if you figure out an easy way to get rid of all the dust from having baby chicks inside the house. I moved my brooders to an outside workshop because I couldn't keep up with the dust from all the baby chicks when they were inside the house. Don't know where all the dust comes from. Is is the fuzz that turns into feathers or the dust from the feed?

P&B I went and looked at some of it, I found out that the president of the COBA is my old buddy and partner, Tommy Thornton, Sweet!!! I need to contact him, see what he is up to, been several years since I seen him, I got his addy from the site, thanks, if you come up with someone local here let me know, I am off to bed, gnite all !!!Lynn

I attend COBA and Tommy was the State Beekeeper of the Year in 2008. He is a commercial beekeeper and may know of someone up in your neck of the woods who places hives.

This Saturday, May 2 is the Cement auction in the evening and the Chupps auction early Saturday morning

The Jones and Blanchard auctions are the 2nd and 4th Saturdays

This weekend is supposed to be cold & rainy ... high only in the low 60's is what I saw somewhere.

I hope Gerald is over his virus by Saturday!

I may have to send you some eggs if I don't quit buying them, no more room in the Sportsman!

Who was it said they had the number for that 12-step program?

Ke-ben, this is the thread for those who don't want to find the number for the 12 step program. We are enablers in this group.

This is why I'm offering to send eggs! I'm a fellow enabler from way back.

You mean the downy dust? I suppose that you could set up a vacuum like a sawdust collection system in a woodshop.

I'll check & see what I have when I get off work tonight. I took all I had & sold them Saturday, so these are from Sunday on. Mine were really dark earlier on, but getting lighter thru the season. Fertility is great .... 2 roos to 6 hens. Poor hens are looking a bit ragged now.

Well, it looks like we have around a dozen, maybe more, but half of them are lighter than I want to see in a Welsummer egg. You'd probably do better buying some at the Jones auction, like Les mentioned.

I've got a lot of jersey giant eggs though ... gonna be mostly blue chicks from them.

I'm conducting an experiment in my spare bedroom where most of the brooders are .... how high can the dust get?
