Yes, we have our 20+ acres in Eastern Oklahoma (close to Eufaula Dam) on the market, so we moved all the goats back to OKC. Without that underbrush and extra acreage, we were essentially having to drylot feed them - and mow the bermuda grass pasture they were in.

We have been looking at a 110 acre "farm" located South of Warner, but it needs a house before we could retire there full time. The two bedroom trailer house on it would be fine for weekends, but not as the only house we had to live in.

My "ideal" place would be 40 - 60 acres within 30 miles of OKC, with a decent house and some barns, and enough pasture land that my husband could have cows again. I like the goats, but he loved the cows we used to have.

I know just the place. There is a farm for sale at SE 44th and Dobbs. i am not sure of the acreage but I'll check.

I wonder if the speed traps in Krebs are any worse than they are in Valley Brooke - by Crossroads Mall in OKC - where you aren't likely to get stopped for drinking and driving if you are leaving a topless bar, but are likely to get stopped for speeding if you are less than 5 mph over the speed limit and just "traveling through"

Lynn, Krebs is just east of McAlester. When you leave McAlester city limits going east on 270 you enter Krebs. Krebs has several Italian restaurants that are known nationwide. Pete's Place and Isle of Capri.

Not long ago I tipped a dozer operator that did some dirt work for us with a gift certificate to Pete's. He is an employee of the company. I try to take care of the guy actually doing the work. He hasn't been in this part of Oklahoma for long. He thanked me and then said what is Petes? He was from around the Arkansas border and had told me he had a girlfriend there. I asked him to ask his girlfriend if she had heard of Pete's Place. The next day I asked him what she said and he smiled real big and said she knew exactly what it was.

Hey RonnieA - I think chiclooker (KC) knows a lot about Sportmans - you might PM him if you don't get an answer soon. (I know nothing about 'bators so I'm no help!)

Monty, sounds good to me, I only live about 2 miles from Krebs. Pete's Place or Isle of Capri?

Or Roseannes......all italian, go figure!

Years ago most of the miners in this area were of Italian descent.

Actually, we had a late lunch at Roseannes on Valentine's day, because they were the only one open for lunch on Saturday. I had a wonderful time shopping at Lovera's Italian Grocery that day

The cool thing about the Krebs restaraunts is that all of the Italian food comes as extra's with your meal. So you could order a steak and also get ravioli spaghetti, and other stuff. At least that is the way it used to be. I don't drink but I am told they make a good chalk beer as well.
