I wonder if the speed traps in Krebs are any worse than they are in Valley Brooke - by Crossroads Mall in OKC - where you aren't likely to get stopped for drinking and driving if you are leaving a topless bar, but are likely to get stopped for speeding if you are less than 5 mph over the speed limit and just "traveling through"

I know that I set my cruise control on 45 when I enter Krebs city limits. More times than not they have someone pulled over when I drive through, which is daily. It is probably about a mile and a half stretch of U S 270 that goes through there.

Monty, I would dearly love to know who you sold those Copperback Doms to, I want some Doms and they sound like they would fit the bill, Les I think the white fluf would likely be from the Hatch line, but there are so many different varient in gamecocks it is really hard to isolate a certain gene or whatever to that they would all come out like say a line of White Leghorns are ste up, too many people don't breed for colr correctness, they may like red birds with white legs or green legs or not like pure white birds or black birds, it is all a matter of prefforence I think, Lynn

Yes, we have our 20+ acres in Eastern Oklahoma (close to Eufaula Dam) on the market, so we moved all the goats back to OKC. Without that underbrush and extra acreage, we were essentially having to drylot feed them - and mow the bermuda grass pasture they were in.

We have been looking at a 110 acre "farm" located South of Warner, but it needs a house before we could retire there full time. The two bedroom trailer house on it would be fine for weekends, but not as the only house we had to live in.

My "ideal" place would be 40 - 60 acres within 30 miles of OKC, with a decent house and some barns, and enough pasture land that my husband could have cows again. I like the goats, but he loved the cows we used to have.

I know just the place. There is a farm for sale at SE 44th and Dobbs. i am not sure of the acreage but I'll check.

Thanks! We haven't actually looked for anything close to OKC yet, since we have been talking about the 110 acres for several months. Our property in OKC is a perfect location as far as great neighbors and my work is concerned, but it doesn't have enough acreage for cows and baling hay.

It has been there for quite a while. It is on the east side of Krebs leaving town. It is a small place but very good. The owner or owners are part of the Pritchard family that owns Pete's Place. I forgot about Giacomo's. It is on 69 Hwy. across from Wal-mart in McAlester.

Thanks chick, i got a deal worked out for a 100$ to get one. Its needs a set of egg racks adn a hatching tray. The seller i found bought it from someone else and ran it a few days but doesnt have teh space to keep it and uses a stryofoam bator. I figured for the price i could buy a set of egg racks and a hatching try and still be inless than 200$ or around it.

Lynn, That was a long long time ago. We sold a lot of our stags to
a man named Charlie Litsey in Okmulgee. he is dead now. I don't remember if he was the one who bought them or not.
They were from a line owned by Linc Shaun from Dewar. He is dead also. i wish I could be of more help.
They would be what we call crele now. They were beautiful birds.

It is interesting to see the pictures of the parents - they have no resemblence to the hens I got from ya'll. Mine have feathers on their necks.

Is Giacomo's still open? We asked about them in February and if I understood correctly, they have gone out of business. Bricker? Do you know the answer to that question since it is in your neck of the woods?

I have fallen in love with the Oriental Games. I have found them to be friendly and very intelligent birds plus they are very family oriented. The hens we have don't care whether it is her chick or not, if it's a chick she will raise it.

I have read some posts on other forums from Julia Keeling (shamolady) and she shows Shamo in standard size. In the UK color doesn't enter into the judging at all for the Orientals, just body type plus they must show a willingness to fight even though it has been outlawed there since the 1830s.
