Yes Nana what you said about a Hen with her lil babies. My blue cochin hen sat eggs and only one hatched which surprised me as to all the trouble we went thru to keep her dry at that time. She is so much fun to watch with her lil chick. He will go under her wing and hide and peek his little head out. I want about 20 or so more of these broodies,

My favorite gift for children and adults alike, is a flashlight. I subscribe to the theory that you should have one by your bed that never gets moved except for an emergency, one that you use around the house, one in your car and I keep one in the backpack that I travel with. I may not make funny faces with them, but I love them. Of course, I am also the "girl" with the box of new batteries to run all of those flashlights.

Teach - as I was telling my grandson that we might have baby chicks today, it occurred to me that we ought to have baby quail this week also. I need to move those eggs to a hatcher

Thank you, Thank you. A compliment to start my day!

Thank you everyone. Now if I can just remember everyone that I've already met. Memory isnt as good as it was and kids are doing their best to get rid of the rest of it... lol

Showing goats or sheep is top secret stuff. NO one wants to help by giving away their secrets I think. My daughter did a sheep threw 4h with help from a neighbor. We got LUCKY.... We also DIDN'T get all the tips they were kept secret. What you need to do is find an OLDER person that has a herd of goats that they would like you to show and win. Looks good for them. They then MAY share some tips. www.youtube.com has some stuff.
My earthquake kit has some Batteries about 2 years old and 3 flash lights that you hand crank along with a cb radio. Batteries are like gold in the house.
Welcome to all new peeps and I may be looking for a sultrens IF I can talk my husband into not having to many.. ;o)
On a side note Im having roo problems. Will they ever get along or should I just split up the flock ? Old roo hates seeing new roo and mate do their thing and will not let it join flock at night. Would it be best just to move the new ones to their own place ?

There are actually a few threads here on BYC about the Braggs Mountain Buffs. I tried to get info on them but they never returned my call.

bethinoklahoma thanks! I hadn't thought about utube!! It really helps to at least see what is done in the show ring. I will continue to read everything I can find and show her these video's so she will know what to expect.

Thank you Monty! Are you the tall one I met? Sorry I warned my memory was bad. Power wasnt off for long. We werent home maybe 10 minute and the power came back on. I told the kids the electric just didnt like them... They laughed at me! I got tickled, my 13 yr old boy had put candles all around the outside of my baby chicks cage to try to keep them warm for me. He said he knew they needed to stay warm.
