sooner their is also a sheep showing camp this summer threw 4-h... They go into the showing part for the kids. It is pricey but worth the money once maybe...
Now roo's are fine all day. Its just nights that are bugging me. Everyone wants to be in the one hen house... No one likes the new one and the silkie pair want to live in the dog kennel in the barn (garage) area and all day if I let them... Poop everywhere....
I will get some pics maybe that will help..
Rain rain go the heck away and come again another month, already...

I have two roo's that run with my hens. One is dominate and will run the younger one off it he gets with the girls. It is funny to watch him sneek around to get the girl, they free range all day. They both go in the hen house, the older one goes in well before the younger. He is the last one to go in.....

Yup, saw a fox this past winter. Trapsed through my yard chasing chickens. He was a big beautiful red fox, and luck that the .22 wasn't near the door.

I'm not far from where you live, Dizzy. Just a bit south east.

Marybeth,
The Braggs Mountain buffs are supposed to be a lot larger than the Golden Comets and lay a very large egg.
I talked to someone that had them a few years ago and they liked them but said they wouldn't spend that much money on chicks again.

It's raining, it's pouring the old man is snoring.....come again after the 21st please??? That is when the kids get out of school and I want to enjoy all of the end of year festivities such as field day and 2 field trips. The zoo and park are no fun in the rain.

NOONE IS listening to my song, it is still raining. HUMPH! God, could you turn the faucet on in CA or somewhere that needs a bit of rain?

I think it is a duck!

Goats really aren't hard to show. Treat them basically like a small steer. Their is some talk about going to bracing (sheep showing) but we will see. A great way to learn what you need to do is go watch the big dogs play at the city show. Right now they are looking at fairly short wide goats. Think cattle of the 60's thre foot tall and five foot wide!

If I lived closet to my in-laws I might take some ducks just to release on their pond to irritate them!
