Good morning Okie Aviaphiles...How are y'all? Life here in SW oklahoma is grand.... Have checked on Peeps and every seems to have survived the last nights show. Wow... we got a nice storm or two.... Still has that "It could anytime" feel outside....warm, balmy and windy.... Poor hens... the coop is pretty ratty... Someone is laying shelless eggs....That's...er...uh... interesting! Makes a dang mess. Then I had to grop one of Maggie's pretty blue ones on the ground. DUH! When it gets done raining I will rake out the dang coop and get dry shavings in there....It stinks! I refuse to have a stinky coop!! That's so cliche.

Guess what I got to do yesterday morning? Went to another funeral. That's three in 10 days! Don't they say things happen in threes...? If so I should be done with that....I hope.... Then I hauled a$$ back to Altus for my Mom's big Care Plan Meeting at 2:30... to find out it was actually today...DUH... So I hung out with Maw awhile then came home to clean the house... while I was out doing chickens, I lost the vision in my right eye....MIGRAINE!!!! I wanted to cry, but didn't think that would be prudent....so I took 3 Excedrin and went and hid in the dark until the storm came..... Migraine be danged!!! I'm going to watch the storm...what a great lightning show!! Lots of barbed wire lightning.... gorgeous colors....

So anyways, I'm limping along this morning... called my doc for migraine medicine ... hopefully that comes through...knew I shoulda had some on hand....

Everyone tell Greybears I am not a deadbeat!!

And, don't remember how many of you have kids showing
birds in 4-H, but there is a 4-H Poultry Show June 27th at
Okemah. It's open to all 4-H members and sponsored by
Creek Nation. There's no entry fee. Don't know for sure yet
about the entry times. And, it's an "out of your box" show,
or what we call a "table" show, where the kids actually take
their birds out of their cages and show them on a table.....
like what our kids do here in Cherokee County. Especially
for the kids, we kinda like it. The kids are actually involved,
"hands on" with their birds, and you can see on their faces,
those ribbons mean the world. But, they did say that this
is a "money" show.

Grape Ranch Winery is in Okemah...not a lot of locally grown stuff, but they do have the famous Beat Texas wine and glasses.... I htink every Okie should have some... I use mine in decorating!! HAHAHA!

Pekin Ducks, half-grown - $5 each or both for $9

Black Langshans - $4 each or all three for $10

Ameraucana cockerel (?) - $4

I do that with Pepsi... I swear they put something in it (other than the sugar) to make ya crave it.... I do good for a couple of weeks...then I'm back to square one.... I am going to try to switch over to diet DP....maybe I can do that....

My doctor told me to loose weight...I told him to amputate something. I also asked for some growth hormones...I can't repeat where that conversation went.

Sent an email on the Buffalo birds...that must be where buffalo chicken wings come from!

You bunch of quitters! I switched to Coke Zero and Dt. Mt. Dew...still down it by the case! Not the Mt. Dew...makes me a little wired and hard to llive with according to my wife!

Polish... My chicks have been played with to dealth by puppy, eatten by snake and now hawk has taken two... Im not sure why we are trying again but we are. Polish hens that are HUGE..... So HUGE that they eat snakes and scare hawks.... But would also love chicks.....
Glad to hear your test came out good. Im keeping my fingers crossed for my Mom... She is battling cancer... Maybe good news comes in threes as well.
