I think they will drown themselves in a regular chick waterer. I know some feed stores sell "quail" waterers that have a "u" shaped base to drink from that isn't wide enough for the babies to fall into.

You know....we got some weird looking cumulous clouds for "no rain"... and it's humid!

HMPH...the NWS gave us a 20% chance...you guys in the central area will get rain I bet....They are stacking up....

bigokie are guineas smart enough to stay away from and out of dogs yard and pens? And they will roost in trees right?

no, no, no! It can not rain until I get home and get the feed out of my truck and cover the brooders outside.

We have lots of baby turkeys for sale. I think there's over 50 of them that have hatched within the past few weeks and more are hatching today. We'll be taking some with us to some people at the Blanchard auction, Saturday night, but I don' know that we'll put any in the auction. We also have 5 or more baby lavendar guineas.

Monty - yup they need a shallower more narrow waterer...I have tried the marble thing but just doesn't seem to work as well. They might have a little trouble eating at first...they are fairly dense...I have been known to start them with a little cornmeal and crushed up eggs...only a couple days are needed for them to figure out the eating thing. Old timers used to put a chick or two in with them to show them where to go to eat and drink

I decided the room could wait! I am going home to play with my kids and birds and possibly my wife

Hi everybody! Just jumping on and back off again - but wanted to say hello.

Grace - I meant my remark about you as a good thing!

Andi - I'm glad you met Shelly (sred98).

My SAP (Silkie Acquisition Plan) has come to a screeching halt. Found out I have another out-of-town job coming up and I don't want to leave chicks unattended while I'm gone. Getting more wouldn't be wise, anyway - I already have more than I should.

The library plan didn't really work very good for me yesterday. I found out Lee Child has another Jack Reacher book out, and I avoided work by making sure I'd already read all the Leonard Elmore and Robert B. Parker novels they have at that branch. So today I'm just trying to buckle down...sigh.

Chat later all - have a wonderful day!

Luvs - Am anxious to hear that you've got Lynn home. I'm sure
he has a mountain of instructions and meds. Better keep
that shovel handy....LOL He will have to be soooooo careful
with that hand while he goes through the healing process.
Infection will be a major danger for a while to come.

Holler at us as soon as you can.
