Okies in the BYC The Original

My friday started out rough. Our produce truck got in at 4:30am (wich is usual between 2am-4am). So me and mike start to unload it and behind our bannanas is 3 bins of watermelons stacked on each other. Usualy there just 2 high this was 3. Apparently the bannana pallet was keeping the bottom watermelon bin from splitting cause after mike moved it, it ripped open at the corner. He only made it about 6 feet from the watermelons when this happened and left the bannanas there. He went to get a bin to unload melons in. I look up just intime to see 3 bins falling at me. Me and the truck diver ducked behind the bannana pallet just in time lol. What a mess, watermelon juice was everywhere. Just a huge mess with frozen trucks and everything else and no where to put frozen pallets and no one to work them. Other than that it was pretty good day. My kids are now officialy out for summer, its my 17 years old birthday. I get to bake a cake tommarow. Sure wish these kids would quit growing so fast.

Hi Al...glad you got a lot done - it was a nice day to be outside...not that I'd know...Grrr.

I hate Procrastination and here I am currently a resident of that very nation myself. Work work work blech. I'll be chained to the desk all weekend, but it's my own fault for not starting this project earlier. I am in a foul mood instead of a fowl mood, which is extremely uncommon for me. And while I'm ranting (and popping Midol), let me reiterate that I cannot get Silkies. So of course I dreamed of Silkies last night.

(Thank you God for my trivial problems - I am healthy, I am loved by family and friends, neither I nor my loved ones got bitten by a snake, and I did not have a lawnmower or chair wreck this week. Amen.)

City if the only thing keeping you from getting silkies in finding some im sure ive been seeing a few older birds on craigslist listed IN Tulsa. Might worth it to post a wanted add on the farm/garden section.

Produce James Bond, I like it. Now wheres my bond girl at? I didnt eat any of the cracked ones. We do on occasion cut one open but I prefer the good big seedy ones and all weve had this year so far are seedless out of Mexico and Texas. Wheres all my seeded melons at

hey folks...checkin in- found out today that katy feed in muskogee will have guineas in next week...yay! plan on getting a couple- is there anyway to tell sex in the first few days of a hatch?

alls been quiet here, except about midnite for the last week a pair of coons have been visiting the porch, drank all the hummingbird nector, so now we bring all feeders in at nite, what a pain.... wonder if they are speculating on how we are making the coop and run???

Al sounds like you had a pretty good day.So what breeds are you going to house in this Hilton Hen Palace?

Nice almost summer evening here,took the Miss out to eat at El Chicos,then stopped at a pet store and foundf a society finch sitting on an egg in the corner of its cage, I snacthed it up quickly,I have 2 extra males and hens are hard to find.

Backyard has that wonder ful springtime smell of honeysuckle! My favorite smell.

Al...I cleaned the whole house, vaccumed, mopped, bathrooms, cleand coops and pens twice and mowed the neighbors 6 acres, plus going to Walmart to buy tomato plants, and visiting my Ma....I am buzzing... what a great day to be outside... I need a Bud Light Lime!!! Glad you are making headway on your pens!

I am doing tomatoes in containers this year! Hope I have better luck doing that...The first year i was here I nplanted 38 tomatoes and got one lousy tomato...emphasis on the word LOUSY... nasty dirt... gotta start a compost pile....

Love you Okies... gonna go scrub off southwest Oklahoma and eat scream....
