I talked to him yesterday and I am going to pick mine up in Choctaw on Sunday. I understood him to indicate yours were going to be delivered in Blanchard, but I will call him tomorrow and confirm that.

At our Noble Beekeepers meeting this week, the general consensus was that the bees started swarming much earlier than usual this year and have continued to swarm more than in past years. The weather was the generally agreed upon reason.

Good morning all :
Gotta get an early start today, and see if I can't get a bunch done. I want to relax a little on sunday, maybe fire up the smoker and sloth out some. I realized last night that I got some serious sun yesterday, stings a little this morning, Ouch.

Morning all. WOW what a busy day yesterday. Lets see if I can sum it up.

Went to the hospital at around 9 30, waited and waited and waited some more. Doc came in at 11 50 asked Lynn if he wanted to stay another day for more anitbiotics................I jumped in and said no give him a script. Ok Lynn then said nope I want to go home. The had to wait for another vial of antibiotics to go thru him then the nurse to "pull the plug" and then for transport to wheel him to the truck. 2:30 pulled into the driveway just in time to meet the school bus for grandson at 3. Played with him till 430 then sat in the sunshine till around 7ish and went to the casino to pick up his pay check, back home by 10 30 and still had to put birds up.

Something I have read about here on BYC and Sheila is using it also is Stall Dry. It is DE and clay pellets. Will help to keep litter in the coops dry and not smelly. I am going to pick some up today or tomorrow.

here is the link to the forum here talking about it. Sheila swears by it. And she has had about the same rain we have had, she just gets it after us.

Lynn found his fav chick in the bathtub last night........its a splash Andi.

Monty are you going to Blanchard tonight? We could meet up then, or I can meet you today, I will be up at moms and Lynn should be around here somewhere. I will leave to go to moms at around noon.

Got the goats about 3 or 4 days ago. Got one nanny out of the pen. She has been out there since the first night we brought them home. She is a pain in the butt! You need to come see them. Got 2 nannies and 5 kids. Both nannies are pregnant.

What time does it start? Probably if we get done with the goat pen in time.

We will slow down here some after we get the goats situated. If you need some help let us know. Carl says he isnt worth a poop at chicken wire but we can still lend some hands. Got plenty of kids to help and between doing here and helping you they would be sure not to tell me they are bored this summer.

you got it. Can not have bored kids. We will have to get the stuff to build the pens. May try to do that tomorrow. What Lynn can not do with his finger I can. NO wise comments Stimpy, Teach, Al or Monty!!!!!!!!!!!

Well Im off for now. Going to clear some briar patches and get rid of junk that has been down there for years. Poor pen hasnt been used since Carl was in high school. The kids have carried more crap down there over the year and the mosquitos are aweful!

If you can figure out a way to stake your goats in the briar patch, they will take it to the ground for you. Goats are better at eating weeds and briars than they are at eating grass.

They have a pretty good size pen and later we are going to extend it to cover the back 6 acres but for now I will need to trim the briars for a path to get to their feed trough and on the path down to the pen. Whole property back there is covered with them. That is one of the reasons we got them so to clear up the property. But until we get them use to us we are going to have to tie up the one nanny that keeps getting out. the other one is a sweetheart. you can feed her by hand but she is tied up for now to prevent her from going after the other nanny. After the other nanny is in the pen we will untie her. told Carl if I could catch one of her babies I would make it yell, she is very protective but he would have to be ready to catch her. I dont want to be rammed. Dont care how little she is.

If you don't find the answer from one of the Okies in the BYC, you might try posting on the Yahoo group called NewOkiePioneers - there was a discussion on there about 6 weeks ago regarding local sources of fresh milk. The farmer's market probably also has someone selling it.
