OK all You's Guys with "Big Guns"...(*Hennies loads .22 Pea shooter*) I say we go to Grace's house and shoot coons instead of gangbangers.... she has way more trouble than me!

That stinks. Maybe set traps and the drown them real slow....

Edited to include a kudos to quenstons motion lights... hubby put some in for me....they are awesome and if ya have to run out there for some reason at O dark thirty you can actually see!

Robin, I was wondering about the Night Guard too. It would be well worth the money if it really works. I am tired of having to worry about the varmints. We live out in the middle of nowhere and I do have a security light next to my coop. I also have outside dogs. I think they are sleeping on the job though.

will guineas chase off racoons ? thought that might be another reason to get them... we have been having a coon pair visist the porch every nite- we don't even have the chicken coop done, and they are still in the house...

I just ended up buying the cheap motion lights at Lowes I think that I gave $9 for them and they seem to work great!!! and as far as the red eye lights I ended up hooking up LED's to the motion sensor and they come on in the darker spots of my run, seems to work well

I've shot lots of different guns. Learned at the get-go with
a 410 single shot....taught me that I'd better make it count....
so, around here, if I'm "serious"....one of the 410s comes out.....
Still have that "single shot" and these kids are learning with
it.....and both of them are pretty darned good ! In a pinch....
when he's serious....Bill even takes it.......LOL Of course, I'm
talking short distances (like 50 yards, unless you're using a
slug)....

If the critter is further away than that.....I figure the sound of
the golf cart would have scared it away beforehand,...so what
would be the point?..........LOL And, I started hunting in
Arkansas.....so seeing something at 50 yards was a long shot,
too.........LOL

Over the years I have shoot a number of firearms. Semi-automatics to pistols. Even got the chance to shoot a glock, scared the crap out of me but was fun. I recently bought a 22 rifle because of neighbors dogs, kinda wishing I had went with the shoot gun though.
So far I have not had the chance to use my 22, especially with having the llamas now. Next week we are going to a friends house so I can teach my fiance how to shoot. He grew up and lived in Germany most his life and they are not allowed guns there, so this will be a new experience for him.
I am hoping to get power out to my coop in the next couple of months so I can get a few motion lights out there. So far the only thing that is coming in the yard since the llamas moved in are squirrels and they are driving me crazy. They eat the chicken food and llama food. Have to go by metal containers this week to store feed in because they keep chewing holes in my plastic buckets.
Oh, well I would rather give up a bit of feed the squirrels then loose birds to dogs, raccoons or coyotes. Already know how that feels and really sympathize with all of you who are going through it.​
