I'm kinda glad that I didn't go home with any thing, if I did I think my dad would have had a cow and then beat me with it, lol.
But seriously, some of those birds there were GORGEOUS~!!!
Told Pa-Pa.....plug the phone line in....I HAVEN'T CHECKED IN
ON THE BYC FORUM IN TWO DAYS !!!!!! Thought I was going to
go into DT's........LOL
OKRobin - Your "babies" made it just fine.....until sun-up this
morning.....LOL We had taken a young roo, too.....I had to
cover the show box with blankets and turn the TV up loud to
keep us from getting caught with chickens in the motel room.....
ROFLMAO So, what does Pa-Pa do "first thing" this morning?????
There were some "city" kids in the next room that had never
seen a "live" chicken.............Thankfully, we were around the
corner from the office...... We were trying to load up to go to
class and the little 5 year old was back over there wanting to
play with the "chickies" some more........LOL
Go figure, we were worrying about the weather down there.....
and the storms were "up here". No damage, but water
everywhere.... Seems we missed a "good 'un".....
Was sooooo good to see everybody. Teach and Neecy......
check in and let us know that you guys made it home OK.
Ahhhhhhhhh.....the miles we travel and the "crap" we do for
our "birdies".............LOL
glad to hear from you! yep wee got slammed here with high winds- should have seen hubby lashing down the half made coop! said to expect this kind of thing through sunday-
that is funny about the kids- its like peoples first reaction to 'fresh' eggs!
glad to know my babies made it- quiet here in the morning till the other roo learns to crow, he squeaks right now...
Hi Folks, it has been a while since I been on, have had some problems here with the boy, we are dealing with things, Dakota ran away last week, I found him three miles from home, hitch hikeing down the hiway, got him home, had a sheriff come talk with him, have a youth councelor trying to talk to him, he is being stuborn, won't talk about the problem, had the mother-in-law here all week, to stay with him and try to talk to him, we are kinda at a stand still, he is going to Falls Creek next week, so lets all pray for a miricle, as I know when I went to Falls Creek in my youth it helped to open my eyes to the world around me, BUT, in view of the situation at hand, and the fact that my hip and knees have been really giving me fits lately, my job is not on steady ground as of yet and hoping to go into winter this year more prepared than usual, I Have Decided to Cut Back on Chicken Breeds, SO!!! I want to give my second family here first chance at what I am letting go. then the rest that is left will go to the auction, am thinking maybe Blanchard! As of tonight I have mature laying birds to go in the following breeds, all large fowl breeds,
1 Pr Silver Pheonix
1 Pr Golden Pheonix
1 Pr Red Shouldered Yokahomas
1 Quad Iowa Blues
1 Quad Lakenvelders
1 Trio Barnyard Game cross
1 Trio Game x Black Sexlink
2 New Zealand White Buck Rabbits
There may be more added, will list as they come available, also have some assorted young birds, all pure breeds but young in various ages, may have extra Roosters if you need one in a breed I have just ask. I am not putting prices on these birds, will consider all offers, thank you all in advace for your prayers and concerns, Lynn
I is home! Sorry so late! I had to watch the end of the game...then they watched the big kids play...thenwe had to bed everyone down...then I had to clean-up...then I had to read...dang those are lots of had to's! Nix all that...I GOT to! There more positive!
Hey Lynn, how old's your boy?
I remember always wanting to run off to live with my sister when things got to hard to handle, couldn't actually do it, I always thought of some reason to stay.
And Teach, glad you made it home safely, how was the game?
Teach - glad you made it home safely. I really like the new cage and will be moving rabbits into it this afternoon.
Al - thanks for posting pictures - I am going to put the one with my fat face on the refrigerator as "inspiration"
TJ's nana - glad ya'll made it home safely. Bill showing the chickens to the children at the hotel is funny - something like we would do.
Stray - I am going to have to remember your "have a cow and beat me with it" statement - that is clever. It was nice knowing that your dad was watching the chickens while we were in class.
Auctionlover - you are definately and "enabler" for those of us addicted to auctions. I enjoyed your enthusiasm.
Oldmotherhen - thank you very much for the tips on button quail. I am ready to try them again and keep them warmer and feed them higher protein feed.
GreyBear - sorry your family is having the kinds of problems that parents dread. Hopefully, some time at Fall's Creek will give your young man the opportunity to open up and get some advice he can relate to. Also sorry you are having health problems and deciding to downsize. You certainly have a wide variety of birds that you are going to downsize.
Looks like another scorcher today - I am going to see what I can get done outside before it gets too hot.
Good morning everyone, thank you all for your prayers and concerns, Dakota is thirteen and he is a good kid at heart, he is having some problems, we have him with a youth councellor and are trying to get through this, thank you all, if you see something I listed you are interested in, pm or email me and we can talk price and pickup, hope to get stuff gone by next weekend, I do have other breeds not listed and have lots of young birds in various breeds, if you need soething in particular let me know, thanks everyone, Lynn
Al - Thanks for the pictures. ......."TJ, you little hickazoid.....
is that a toothpick sticking out of your mouth????"
And "here's trouble???"..... I think "TROUBLE" was behind
the camera !!!!!!!.... LOL
Lynn, so glad Dakota is headed for camp. You put a whole
bunch of folks the same age together, and lots of times they'll
see that there are others that feel the same way they are
feeling, and will open up and "clear enough cobwebs to let
some sunshine in". Missed Buckguy at the NPIP class, but
am so thankful that he, and others like him, are able to take
the time to be at these camps. He struck me as someone that
anyone could come to and nothing could shake him "off course".
Teach - Thanks..........I guess....LOL Has been a while since
we raised any quail. Am sure they'll have settled long enough
and will be in the "bator" later this afternoon. Now to remember
where he put the quail brooders and get them ready....... But,
these do grow like crazy and are soooooo good on the
charcoaler !
Sounds like we gotta keep an eye to the skies again this
evening. Take care all.
