TJ's Na-Na :

OKCarla - question about airplanes....like if you wanna talk about
them on the weekend....LOL When we were coming through
MidWest City, there were several large planes came over, and
then, there was this long, wide winged, but kinda narrow
bodied, black or charcoal colored plane came in. I had never
seen anything like that. What was it ????? Didn't look like
it had windows down the sides, so we're thinking maybe a
freight plane for supplies or something. Was neat to see it.
TJ is an airplane/helicopter nut !

The long wide winged dark airplane was probably a B-52 bomber. There's been one flying around lately. They only fly them around after they've had their maintenance done and they are testing all the systems out on them. I work next to the B-52 hangar, with the E-3's. The E-3 is usually a pretty white airplane that has the big black dome that rotates on top. Gerald works in the building with the KC-135 tanker aircraft, that refuels airplanes mid-air.

The next time Tinker has an open house or airshow, you should make a trip to see it. Usually they have lots of airplanes available to go thru and look at. I'm not sure if there's a show scheduled this year or not, but I'll let you know when I find out.

You are Teach's (Roy) friend from the panhandle right? Have fun and good luck on the pheasant. I just hatch 11 ringnecks last week but I'm just hatching them for now.

Welcome home Monty! I'll at least wave at everybody on my way through next week.

Carla, you sound better today, amazing what a little sleep can do. I think you need a vacation now after reading your posts from yesterday.

Have a great week all!

Hey teach! how did the banties handle the trip? just wondering...

looks like another nite of rain- then some drying out...maybe my gals will be in the coop this week- question- does the coop need windows? if so, do i cover the opening with hardware cloth or glass??

I trust everybody had a fine weekend, getting through some weather issues and such. I have some sikies that are going to try again to set some eggs, these two are about the most incompetant setters I have ever seen. It is so funny watching two of them trying to set 3 eggs together, they really don't have a clue. The last time they tried was a disaster, how many times before they get it right LOL. I am not fretting over it one bit, if they do OK if not well thats OK too, I thought these sikies were suppose to have NINJA setting powers LOL.

Teach : Are things getting back to normal at the ponderosa ??.

Monty : Good to have ya back boy!!!!.

Marybeth : I sure had a good time at the NPIP Friday & Lunch, seeing everybody again albeit missing a few was great. and that swapping birds and eggs in the parking lot was a special funny treat LOL.

My Daughter to tell you the truth wasn't really bored at all so she tells me LOL, maybe our trip to the Big city mall played a small part in her attitude, Teenagers god help me please LOL.

We had 35 turkey poults and 40+ chicks hatch today. Lots of bantam chicks from eggs bought at the Blanchard auction 3 weeks ago.

I finally found enough room in the incubators to put all the eggs in that Gerald bought at the Blanchard auction. It was over 100 bantam eggs, and some were just a few of their color variety.

Here's the eggs he bought (all bantam):

barred cochin
mottled cochin
birchen cochin
white cochin
blue cochin
red cochin
buff cochin
gold lace cochin
black cochin
partridge cochin
barred rock

And we candled eggs in the incubator & realized that about half of the lavendar/pearl/white guinea eggs are clear. I guess I must have removed too many males out of that pen. I'd better move one of my white male guineas into that pen ASAP!

Yep, I'm feeling better. Unfortunately I still didn't have enough time to get everything done outside today that I wanted to. I definitely need a vacation or time off from work to get things done around this place.

Well, we'll be moving the EE's into the coop by next weekend~!!!
I'm sorry about all the hail and drama damage, I'm glad I don't have to deal with the hail here... Drama on the other hand is plentiful....
Lynn, I hope your boy figures how good he really has it at home.

Really, really wish I could have gone to Blanchard last night... Dad through a fit when I asked if we were gonna go...

Anyways, again glad everyone made it home safely.

Still glad we got to get together for NPIPS, It was alot of fun.
I'm sorry we didn't get to stay and chat more with everyone after lunch, my dad still isn't to big on anything that has to do with what I'm "addicted' to, that and he "Just wanted to get busy." I'f I was driving I promise you we would have stayed longer.
