Welcome Tonya! Good to have you!

Nana, we didn't get a drop here!!! I went to wet the pens this evening while hubby took care of the garden!

I wish the water bottles would work for me but there is no way I could freeze enough for all of them. So far they seem to be holding out pretty good.

Momma hen is now teaching her babies to roost! One of them was crying like crazy so I went to check on them (thinking the worst) and she was on the roost with one babie while the other was trying to get up there.

Tried to mix my silkies but the two just aren't big enough yet. They might get a frozen bottle just due to the location they are compared to the others.

Hope Al is having fun with his buddy!

Big Okie congrats on your new born americannas. I like the roo on your avatar,is he a bantam or lf? I have the bantam size, they are my favorites too. I think I like the fact you can have a real variety in your flock and still have a purebred flock!
Well we made the long trip back to Tenn. today.

It was a lot hotter back there. But we have had rain here. Its green and lush. I'll have to rake the grass tomorrow when I mow.

Hey there all my fine friends :

Well I survived my day with my buddy and as usual we had a great day all day. Went fishing during the day caught a bunch, got cleaned up and headed into town for a steak. I have a customer who has a fine snooker table in a back room at his watering hole and we shot snooker for a few hours had some laughs told some stories/Lies LOL until it was time to leave and hunt down some Philly cheesesteaks. Finished up the evening playing poker at the casino, It was sure a well deserved good time. of course today it was back to the heat and will be I guess until whenever, it doesn't seem to be bothering me and I am kinda enjoying it. My forte is complaining about the wind LOL, My birds are not struggling at all in the heat, I fed today at 4:00 pm and it wasn't bad at all in the coops.

I just hatched a new bunch of silkies and light Brahmas the last couple of day's and all is well, even my big standard White Cornish are doing fine and started laying finally. I will be putting them in the bator to check fertility.

I hope everybody is staying cool but getting out and enjoying this fine Oklahoma weather LOL, have fun all.

AL

Howdy! Especially to the new type folks! Welcome to the fray!

Stimpy - That was funny. Too bad I had gatorade in my mouth...that stuff is sticky on the monitor

Monty - I think that would classify as an iceberg...don't worry...I want one as well. I ended up losing some birds to that hail...forgot to tell y'all. Didn't realize it until a couple days later but those roos I got from you had some lumps on them they were hiding and then in the heat the stress was too much

The heat almost makes playing ball not fun! We used the pitching machine today...the coaches took turns as well! Stupid ball wouldn't leave the field without bouncing

Those little kids bats are hard to use!

Nothing is so wonderful as a yote meeting its maker!

Well I was pretty sure today was day 18 but I was gonna wait till late this evening to move the eggs to the hatching tray.
At four oclock I didn't have a single chick pipped but at eight I had chicks pipping and hatching like crazy. Several had already hatched in the turning tray so I had to scramble to get them moved down.
Some idiot moved my date book I had tied to the bator. Now if I can only remember where I left it.
