I'm close enough to test them, but I don't have any supplies yet. I posted and gave her the info to contact Marie at the Department of Agriculture. She can set up an appointment with them or Marie will give her a list of testers.

Hey all...popped in for a bit with a quick question...what is the shipping to OK from Ideal? I know some of y'all have had birds shipped from there.

On the website it says this: AIR PARCEL POST (PRIORITY MAIL): Chicks can be safely shipped to all states and Puerto Rico by Air Parcel Post. For shipments to Texas (except zips 798-799), Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Missouri except zips 620 thru 635, there is no air parcel post charge. For all other states and zip codes add 15¢ per Chick, Bantam, Chukar, or Guinea, 20¢ per Turkey Poult or Duckling, and 28¢ per Gosling.

What does that mean? No additional fee? Free shipping?? (I doubt it!

I tried calling but can't get an answer, and now it's lunchtime for them.

Thanks!

Shelly

I agree that the mister uses less water. The water to a mister seems like it is under more pressure than the water to a sprinkler, because it can't escape as rapidly from the hose as it would from a sprinkler - causing the mister to blow mist for about a minute after the water is turned off instead of the instant turnoff of a sprinkler. Even the mister will get the ground wet after several hours however, if it is turned on full power and there isn't much breeze.

Oh my heck....LMAO......I was just on the FoxNews site....some polish lady (Of course!) is suing a hotel in Egypt claiming her 13 yr old daughter got pregnant in the swimming pool. I have been busting up for 10 minutes. You can't make this stuff up....People!

She may have gotten pregnant in the swimming pool, but it wasn't an immaculate conception.

My favorite is the teenager who had a baby and then tried to convince her furious mom that she wasn't the newborn's mother (might work for the guy involved, but sort of hard to disclaim a child that has just emerged from your body)

This is a wonderful group of Okies who are addicted to poultry, hatching eggs, and poultry auctions. Disclaimer: if you have an addictive personality, you should be aware that there are several "enablers" on this thread who will help you find whatever kind of poultry, eggs, or auction you might be looking for - or might be interested in but just didn't know yet that you were interested.

Yeah, if it's in good condition, that's a good price. I'm not sure what brand it is though, but it sounds like it's a GQF sportsman incubator. Usually I see them for around $350 used. I paid $750 for my GQF cabinet incubator, new. I'd say it's a great way to save $500, if you want to hatch eggs.

Warning: hatching eggs can be an incurable addiction to some people
