Yes, there are a lot of nice people in the world. The person I bought my Shetland Sheep from didn't charge me very much. She was mainly interested in finding them a good home. I found some Shetland Sheep located in Kansas, also on a homesteading group, but would like to find a couple more ewes in Oklahoma. I just think they are cool looking and my ram was a huge hit at the church's "Night in Bethlehem."

Is it my imagination or are there more raccoons and skunks this year than in the past? Several of our members have had their chickens attacked by raccoons in the past few months, a friend of mine has live trapped about 6 of them since April and she hit one in the road this afternoon in Midwest City. We have live trapped more than 4 skunks since June and there seems to be a dead skunk in the road every few miles around this area. I don't know whether it is like "you don't notice all the red cars on the road until you buy a red car" and I am just more aware of them, or there really are more of them hanging around this year.
Any thoughts?

It also seemed that way to me but thought it was my imagination.

the coon deal is that the hides havent been bringing much the last few years so there is not many people hunting them as there use to be.the increased the number of coons you can harvest last year to 40 from 30 an this year coon season is a month longer running until feb 28th instead of jan 31st.my buyer in kansas too over 1000 hides to canada to the big auction in the spring an ended up bringing them home to hold until this year to see if they would bring more.

I had to replace quite a few garden hoses myself.

I don't know why, but suddenly they stopped taking an interest in them though. Well, I did spray some with some anti-cribbing spray for horses .... called McNasty. It's claim is it's not just hot, it's guaranteed Nasty! Oh, and then there was the AT&T phone guy that sprayed something even nastier on the phone lines that he just replaced because the pyr's decided to chew up the old lines.

My garden hoses were the lifetime warranty ones, but I figured it might just be pushing it a bit to take all the pieces of them in to Sears for replacement. I caught 2 of the pyrs playing tug of war with one of the pieces. They sure were cute, but I had to let them know they weren't allowed to tear up the hoses. Luckily, they finally learned that garden hoses are off limits.

I sure am glad you're going to demonstrate incubator repair at POOPS!!!! I need to see how to replace those wafers. I have a couple of old brooders that need wafers replaced! Well, maybe they need the heating element replaced or even the old cords?

Those sure are cute dogs. My sister & her husband have a rat terrier that looks similar, but the only thing she ever chases is squirrels.

My german shepherd sure likes bringing his trophy kills up near the front porch ... usually at least one armadillo a week, he's killed racoons, beavers, possums and a few wild cats. He never brings a skunk to the house, but he sure smells like he's had a tangle with them occasionally. Suprisingly, the beavers gave him the most trouble, or at least he'd have a wound or two from them.

What a day .... I guess I will find out if my Shetland Pony will be foaling come next July

Some stud across the street was caught getting fresh with her... arggg... all day long I had been looking for her... I must say my friend and I had a fright the stud that was well ya know was HUGE 4 times her size and like a giant to us... I mean HUGE and I thought for sure the dude was going to kill her when we finally caught her, or us.. since he charged after us in the truck and tried to prevent her from leaving... Once I got Trisket home she was mad as a hornets nest(which is so unlike her).. I guess if she did get bred we will be having a lil cheeze it sometime next summer..

Also on a lighter note I did sell 2 of my 6 ducks.. So Yea me!

Do they have any "morning after pills" for a horse? I'd be worried there could be a too large foal and it could damage your mare. I must admit though, I don't know much about horses ... but I know dogs can sure have too big of puppies. I used to raise long coat chihuahuas, and too big of puppies would get stuck in the birth canal and then I'd have to rush to the vet & pay lots of money & usually lose the puppy or puppies.
