Carla You are right she may have a hard time carrying it and have several problems at Fowling time, My bet is she did get bred and Jeannie you need to watch out now as she may try to get out or the stud may try to get in, be on your toes.

Believe you me I was hollering at my friend when we found Trisket, that Oh my gosh he is going to hurt her, I mean she is well a shetland and this guy was like a giant to me and I am 5'3. If she did get bred she can either throw another pony or a full horse so I will be on the look out once a pregnancy is confirmed... The poor girl was all roughed up... I had been wondering if she had went into season the way she had been acting lately and thats why her getting mad at me threw me off as she is normally very ho hum like. We checked the fence line... nothing down, no gates opened or anything even the lady that owned the pasture where the studs were was a bit worried on how she would have got in there since there was no way for them to get out... I pray it was not some kids out and bored at night that let her out sometime Monday night, since we didnt see her in the morning and had been looking for her all day... even so much as calling the Sheriffs office to say hey there is a missing Shetland for just in case someone spots her. This stud that had her when we caught her was all riled up and was trying to get in the way from not letting her be lead by us... Then when he came charging at my truck it was like HOLY COW dude,

My neighbor had me stick her in his small corral until we can figure out how she got out if she had got out on her own accord... I may have to run hot wire... but like I said the way she had been acting it was as though she was in season(heat), which she never went through and I have had her almost a year and to be so late in the months something must be in the water... HA HA oh wait thats right its the Apple Cider Vinegar....

the do have a shot for cattle to abort them.cant think what its called.can find out from my buddy tomarrow.they pre condition all heifers on thier ranch an give the shot to make sure none are bred.

I've only had six escapes from the chicks since I've let them start hanging out with the 'Elders', and only two problems, no deaths, from cats, one of which had a bell so my (Only) Buff laced chick was able to hide in time. The only thing I'm loving about my teeth right now is that I can take these really awesome pain killers that make me feel 'normal'.

Morning all.

Barnswollow, where did you get her and when. We had a girl last year that looked just like her. Mom couldnt take care of her anymore so we gave her to crosstimbers farm. She said she had a good home for her waiting.

that would be a small world. She is to cute. My girls would love to have a smaller horse, but I hear ponys can be nasty.
Anybody bring a bator for sale ? Cochin eggs and a lesson would be nice.

although its cool out not humid yet but that will change in a hour..thanks Neecy i got her to drink some powerade as thats what we had and shes feeling better this morning says shes achy...hope shes not catching anything with school just around the corner!!

She is not mean at all very gentle, she used to be one of those merry go round ponies you see at parties and such. The mad as a hornets nest comment I made referencing her attitude was more her not wanting to be lead back to home even though she did go with me, her demenor was that just like a mare in heat... of course it didnt help that the stud was call back at her and being all crazy (literally)

We've had horses every since I was about 10, including ponies. I think small horses or really big ponies are the best choice for small children. A small ponies center of balance is really small and low so its easier for kids to fall off. Baby ponies are probably the cutest things in the world though, right up there with baby chickens!
