Bring a large unsalted pot to a rolling boil, add the slimy stuff, let it return to a boil then time for 3 min, remove from heat rinse in cold water to stop the cooking, dry it well and freeze in airtight containers.

I found the strangest looking bug a few weeks ago. It is a long gray beetle with what looks like eyes painted on it. I've never seen one before. I put it in a ziploc bag and it was popping around like a mexican jumping bean. It's deceased now. I could save it for your son, if you'd like? I have tons of insects around my place.

That is an Eyed click beetle.

It has helped us A LOT when we are trying to ID Shaun's bugs.

The best way to kill/perserve them is to put them in a ziplock bag and put them in the freezer.

Big Q ; Yes cut them leaving about 4-5" of stem, tie them together in bunches and hang upsidedown from the ceiling or where any felines cannot get a catnip sample, leave them there until really completely dry, if they are not completely dry they will mold when put into your containers, this usually takes between 5-7 days depending on your humidity in your house. do not put them in the sun, not good hehehe.
