... I dont think our pony wasnt bred couple of weeks ago when she got out because she still acts like she is in heat... Currently going to make her glue(just kidding) she just took off again and is now no where in site... ARGGGGG... Trying to get in our first day of school (we started back today...we home school) now this... Our does(nubian goats) are giving us grief too by being all crazy... maybe its the weather change... who knows but I am about to do them all in... ok in my head... not literally... Had to vent... how are you all doing today? Hopefully better than me

Yes! Sorry I had not answered that question yet. All the ruuning and the kids started back to school things feel out of control. I hate the beginning and end of school years. Yes we will be at POOPS, dont know how long though.

Wish my worries were getting kids to school, instead of being the 'kid' going back to school...

I love Grace's pic of the week! That is too stinkin cute!

Soonerguy33 - My uncle lives in Yukon. And in city limits. Hope your chickening goes well, I would love to give my uncle the chicken bug!

Oh and thank you to everyone who sent me coop and pen ideas this morning! It is so great to have so many helpful ideas!

Yea Grace - awesome photo!

soonerguy! You and Mallen should have a good time on here. I think Mallen is trying to train his hens to lay red eggs with the white OU logo on them...

Your coop should be fine as long as the wind can't blow right in on the clucks. Good ventilation in the winter is also important. If you want to try to improve egg laying in the winter you might try putting a light on a timer in the coop so that the clucks still get about 12 hours of light or so a day. I've heard that helps some. Most of the heavy breeds are pretty cold hardy, and as long as you can keep their water thawed they should do okay.
