Hey Teach. Did you see this morning on Good morning America about that record size snake. I didn't get all the details, maybe its on their website,or AP news. It was like 240 pounds or something. Way to big for a safe pet!

...My pet will get bigger than that!

I agree about the safe thing though...you gotta know what you are doing and be planning for it! When mine gets that big he will get a room for himself and we won't go play with him...unless they are a couple adult men around!

That game bird is great for the quail...just make sure you get them crumbles! Otherwise you gotta grind it!

forgot how tiny these guys can be!

another question- lousy pic, but our pet bluejay warned us a predator was around...

vulture or hawk?? guinneas and chickens are learning to trust RJ the blue jay - he sits by the window and watches over the flock outside

Monty--How are you feeling? I had the crud also and all I wanted to do was stay home and lay around. Unfortunately I still went to work. Afterall, that's where I got it...from my darling snotty nose kids at school. LOL Hope you're feeling better.

Hey Teach...that python wasn't 240 lbs...he was 400 lbs.! He was 16 years old and in very good shape. The authorities thought his pen wasn't good enough so they took him. The new caretaker fed him breakfast this morning and he ate 7 rabbits. I guess they didn't know about BYC and asking for roosters for him. LOL

Well, I am still under the weather and haven't been worth a dime the last three or four days.
I do have a funny story though.
I had taken my son someplace and we were coming back when he yelled at me that there was a wild turkey out in a hay field.
So I turned around and went back to look.
Well we couldn't see him so I figured he must have flown away. Then I saw him and he was only about 50 yards from the street.
I was trying to take his pic with my phone and he started coming closer so I had Jared get out ot get a closer shot.
That goofy turkey just kept coming closer. My son snapped a picture when he was about 5 yards away and then the turkey started chasing him and tried to flog him.
I had to get out of the car and get between them. The turkey never tried to flog me but he kept trying to get around me to get to Jared.
I was about ready to just grab him but Jared found an angle and dashed about 75 yards back to the car and the Turkey crossed the road and went about his business.
There was a man at a house a ways up from us and he saw the whole thing and came to talk to me.
He said that it was a wild turkey but that his wife fed it all the time and it usually hung out at his house.
He said he had never seen it act that way.
If it had not been around houses I think I would have just tackled it and put it in the van.
I think I know where I will be turkey hunting this fall.

Oh my Monty..that is way too funny.

Too bad you didn't have a video camera to get it on tape you could have made some money off of it. Hey, you would have more money for POOPS! LOL

Was you son scared? I'd have been wishing I had a gun and I would have had Thanksgiving dinner tonight. We don't have anything like that close to us...we live just off HWY 66.. so not much here except racoons and skunks...but that's enough.

Glad everything went OK and hope you get better...it's some nasty stuff...I dread what it will be like this winter when flu season really hits.

Don't see why they would take one in that kind of shape...oh well! 7 rabbits in one setting! P&B...I think we needs to talk! Teach needs rabbits!!

Buckguy - one of the worst whoopings i ever got was at the hands of a turkey. My dad saved me as well...only it was a domestic and then it was supper
