Yes, those are some of my favorite birds, I have Mottled and Mille Fleur.

Hi Ke_ben I was reading your last post, so I take that to mean you are coming? Bring all the roosters you want.

No, like I said, just dreaming unfortunately. I have to find some other outlet for my roosters. Not much meat for butchering and I have about 30 more cornish X's coming next week anyway. I am just hoping to find someone interested out my way; craigslist, feed store, etc.

Glad that you are feeling a little better. PM'ing you now.

For me I had to get to the point not to take it too seriously. Hard if you are a "fixer" type.... Sometimes the things just fall over. Dirty rats. I stare at bodies and think, "What happened?". Try to imagine how many eggs are hatched every day.... out of all those chicks there are going to be issues you can see, and ones ya can't. Unless I was losing the whole flock at at alarming rate I would attribute most attrition to defects that aren't obvious. I lost a perfectly healthy EE a couple weeks ago....dropped dead right off the roost. I think heart attack, stroke etc. They are like people...sometimes only God knows and He don't feel like telling....lol... I look at it now... I got maybe 4-5 birds that are pets...with names etc. I would go a little further for those, but if I thought they were suffering...Chop. They are chickens. Fun, but frail. Try not to get too attached or too worked up. It will drive ya insane...

Patrick Swayze...God bless him...I saw him interviewed and he seemed afraid to die. I don't think he knew the LORD...Hope that changed and he is safe and whole in heaven. He surely put up one heck of a fight.

That roo is a Modern Game Bantam. I think it would be considered Mottled. It's white & black. I told Grace to watch him. She caught me checking him out. I was about to grab and run with him but I would have lost all of my chickens!!! So I rethought the situation and just admired him. He is very nice looking though.

No, I know the only real problem was, you would have lost your premiums from removing a bird early

They are pretty strict about that, ya know!

I cannot wait to raise some more of them.... if I could ever find him a "wife"! And of course, I will let you know when I have extras

About his color, half the time I call him Mottled, and half the time Splash. But the way I understand it, Splash is dark spots on white, where Mottled is white spots on black. So... I think he is actually Splash.

That is a good turn-around for hatching another batch! Did she "raise" the 3 mo. old batch or did you?
So, did you make it back with your Fayoumi?

I don't particularly know "names" of other local breeders... well there is a guy on the Ok/Ar border that has real fancy (expensive?) ones. But do you want them more for yard birds?
