Sorry about the quail. I lost some last night from piling on even though they were under a light.
Then I had two (that Jared won in the raffle) drown today in a quail waterer. I don't know how they manage to do that.

Wow, what a weekend !?!

I met some new friends and got to see older ones again. I learned more about my birds and breeding strategies and got kissed on the head by a man in a dress. How many people can say that?

Everything and everyone at home was safe and sound. We got everything unloaded and crashed for a little while. And now, tomorrow is a new day and we get to do start it all again.

Grace, before we left the hotel, we met a couple from Durant and I bragged on you a little. Hope you don't mind.

Al and Monty and the other planners, actors, and those who labored so hard behind the scenes, you are to be congratulated. The entire weekend was a hit. There was something for everyone, and everyone had a chance and was encouraged to be involved. While talking to the couple at the hotel, the lady remarked that her granddaughter was complaining about being bored. I thought, "she should have been with us".

Thanks Stimpy. I was hoping the guys in the dress thing was just a bad dream but then I looked in the mirror and there is still lipstick in my mustache.
I missed story time with Stimpy so you might have to share a few of those stories on here.
I think next time we will have a special "Storytime with Stimpy Hour)
I can see it going national.

The memoirs of a misspent youth. My wife says that she's glad that all that stupid wasn't genetic. She worried about our kids pulling such antics as that until after they were married. To this day, any time my son wants to give his mom a chill, he'll say something like "mom, I'm thinking of getting a motorcycle." She just closes her eyes and you can see the shudder go all the way through her.

Well we had the huge watermelon tonight. The leftovers took six gallon size Ziploc bags. That thing was huge. The birds even got some of the leftovers. They enjoyed picking the rinds clean. I'm glad everyone enjoyed the melons.

Monty, I missed that too. We need to add Barnswallow and Cook-e to our little group because they have some good stories too.

I don't know about sharing stories on here tho. With the statute of limitations and all. But we'll have another chance. I have to meet Al in Cement some time in the near future. Maybe we can all meet down there for a day of coffee and stories.

My hubby has a motorcycle that I'm trying to get him to sell. Maybe I need to get with your wife on that one. Lol

I should've done some homework at POOPS. I've been working on a take home exam ALL evening, still not done. And need to start writing another wetland paper... Anyone know what the most navigable river in Oklahoma is???

I want to say that I am happy to meet so many of you, the only ones I had met before was Buster and smfamf..........OH, and AL! I once heard from somebody that every time you attend an auction or a gathering that you WILL go home with more than you came with. I did not see how this was possible. I drove 80 miles and forgot a cage, but BarnSwallow and I did have some cash on us. How will we get birds home? Free range in the back seat......NO! As I went to downtown OKC for a couple hours during the auction, I came back to find that I had 7 more birds and I thought to myself that if BarnSwallow had not bought the feeder and a blanket....I could have had 3-4 more birds!! What I am getting at is that I had so much fun and met so many great people who all love the same thing. We are both new at this but there is so much help here I am not at all scared of what I will get into except my wallet:lol:. Finally I want to say Thank You to everyone regardless of what you did; donate, bid, bring food, eat food, setup, cleanup, or dress up like a woman, you all did your part to make it a success. I look forward to next time.

Jason
