I dont' know enough about worms but I think the long ones like that are tape worms. I don't know about the blood cause you have been dealing with Corid right?

I wish NNBreeder was around. He's the man. I read his hand out yesterday and plan to start a binder with my chicken info in it. He's my inspiration.

I love y'all back. I am OK this morning.... God has really been there for me. I had an anxiety attack last night, so I just went in the shower and prayed. Was OK after that. I think she has issues with the fact that I always took care of her and now I have turned that job over to someone else. She talks to me like I am her husband, and it annoys her that I asm already married sometimes! That I am not sacrificing my whole life. I visit her two hours every day. She says that is not enough. She wants more. Well...this is what she's getting. I was praying the other night and I told God...I tried to give her a good life. I took care of her and my dad through all their drinking days when it was all about them. Then I took care of her after her injury and she has lived with us, all told, about 15 years of my 28 year marriage. (The Sausage King is a saint) God told me I had it backwards...I was not the parent. I told Mike I really do feel like she's my child sometimes. Doing the best I can...But I am going to be OK...God will see to that.

What about a genetics project predicting color on the punnett square, then using the chicks of proof. You would have to use chickens that were different colors and know what is recessive and dominant. Which would make it high school level.

I really like that one, plus she was having a hard time understanding the punnett square stuff (never did ask me for help!

) so it would actually help her.

She wanted to do something like Cammie suggested:

You could do a progression of the development of the eggs during incubation. With a good candler, you can turn off all lights and the flash on your camera. I've seen some good pictures taken that way.

but it has to have a hypothesis, controls, and variables, and I wasn't sure how to incorporate all of it.

I love your outlook when it comes to all the hardships you have to face. When I get to whinning will you kick me in the butt? You are a wonderful daughter and I think you know that. She really hasn't been there that long and hopefully will continue to settle in more and have these rough patches less often.

I would like to see that one done myself, did you know mating a Columbian patterned rooster over a buff hen will give you all black chicks?

I didn't know that! I've never had a columbian patterned rooster either.

I think I'll suggest something easy like using the "blue" (dilute black) gene.

I also have the option of using barring. Or, a combination of blue and barring.

I could play with duckwing colors on a wheaten base, but I don't think there are "rules" with that one. I have gold and red (BBR) in males, and gold, wheaten, blue wheaten, and silver in females.

Oh! Then I have the turkens!

Which would allow an experimenation with the naked neck gene.

I am sitting here having breakfast with my precious little Silkie.

She's in a box in the floor next to me and making the sweetest little noises. The cats keep coming to check on her, but then they leave.

Cuban - Too bad you don't know how to sex them. Or do you? You could set up two incubators and test the theory that higher temps produce roosters.

Henney - I'm sorry to hear about you and your family's troubles.

My dad has had several ruptured disks, but he had surgery every time. Can she not? I know its scary and expensive, but I think it saved his life really.

Buster - I didn't think about that! I'll get a big tattoo on my neck.

Okiechick - Sorry to hear that you're down with the crud now. The care giver is always the last to get it. Hope you are feeling well again soon!
