I'm feeling great. Yeah, we're gonna get on the coops today. I have Evan and Lou, and Evan's 15 year old brother, Ethan, who is being punished, to help. Ethan would absolutely rather be set afire than work with chickens so today should be an event.

Did you guys know if you have TMOBILE and you dont switch your billing to paperless they will now charge you $3 for the paper bill each month... EEGADS what about the folks who dont use internet?

Another is when did we become a society so relient on internet and taking what they got to offer.. right now the introductory charge of 24.95 for our 3megabite speed just went up to 49.95...

Trying to fuss with the phone company to give us a lower rate for the offer they have now.. they say no go...

And we dont even have TV either... and they are licking us good for phone(basic basic basic at nearly$30 plus now the new price for Internet)...

Sorry had to vent... not happy not happy at all

Hey barnswallow...economy is hitting everything. We just cut our satelite (?) off...ninety bucks a month... Mike says for the crap they put on....not worth it. Remember when cable first started the hook was... ya pay for it, but it's commercial free? HAHAHAH!! Verizon just bought out our cell company...turns out they won't honor the old company's contract. So if we wanted to keep the same number of minutes they were going to raise us up about 40.00 a month. (Which I neglected to say they did the first three months automatically while hubby was fighting them) Now we pay the same as we did before about 80.00 a month for 300 less minutes. As soon as my contract is up they are history...my wireless internet as well. I'd rather read. Then one of our credit cards doubled our minimum payment to 500.00...lol.. we were already paying that anyways thank goodness. The other one is now threatening to do the same.... I say screw it...sit back and draw welfare and drink 40 ozers on the front porch. Seems to be the way to go....

Same with us for our daughter. We pay for her bills while she is going to school and we're not happy about that one. Considering dumping it entirely.

Course, I would just as soon dump almost everything at my house. I don't watch TV (well, except the Cowboys) and the stuff my wife watches can all be had for free over the air. The library offers the public free wireless Internet service, which is what I am using now. I could use dialup at home when needed.

My idea is if they are gonna jack everything up... we quit buying it...Pure and simple...supply and demand....To me there isn't a whole lot we really NEED....they jacked up my laundry soap 3 bucks a box....they know people will pay it.... I say screw em...

Now chicken food.... might have to cough that up...LOL... That and antibiotics...

So where do you get shavings where it is cheaper than straw??

Depending on where I can find straw, it is $4- 7 per bale. The shavings are $7-8 per bag. The bag of shavings looks like the same size as a bale of hay, but it is so compacted it seems to go further when it is spread out. Besides, I am allergic to straw. (actually, I am also allergic to chickens, rabbits, horses, cats, dogs, cows, sheep, and a lot of trees and grasses, but that is another story

)

I get straw at Lumber 2 and go to a feed store by Remington Park, Cross Brand Feed, to get the wood shavings. Because they supply them for a lot of horses over there, the shavings tend to be of better quality than I can find other places.

In case anyone is curious, if I have 10 bags of feed, I can still get 6 or more bags of shavings in the magic poultry van.

The problem with "introductory rates" is that they end way too soon it seems and then the "regular price" takes effect. Unfortunately, the "regular price " is what you refused to pay before you took the service to begin with, but now you have a craving for the service you receive and cough up the extra money rather than disconnect.

It is easier to get a better deal when there is more competition, because you can threaten to disconnect and get service from the competitor. As you say, it seems unfair that "new" customers can get a better monthly rate than those who have been on the system awhile. The new customers haven't become addicted yet, so they get the better deal to get them on the system as customer.
