LOL, I gathered stuff for mine, just need to run by lowes for a light socket on the way home from soccer in the morning. I figured it out I have to have three of them, I have heated dog bowls for the rest of the pens.

Did you see the pic's of the pan model I posted ??.
I must of missed it. I haven't been on really today. It was a busy Friday with taking son to the doc, then Maddie's Halloween party at school. Just getting on tonight....How far back is it or about what time did you post it?

Al,
The Coq de vin rooster has been butchered, by a city boy with a pellet gun, who wanted to get it over with before he got too attached to the bird. I am waiting to hear how his complicated chicken dish turned out.
Did everyone see the meat bird special that Meyer Hatchery is running? They have their chicken processing equipment marked 10% off and their assorted meat bird special has the chicks prices very reasonably - 25-49 = $.55ea 50-99 = $.44ea 100+ = $.25ea
I just put 15 of those $5 roasters in my freezer, that came from the new Oklahoma processor by Tahlequah, so I won't need to raise any chickens for our table for awhile.
Thought I should be party killer...shot my old dog today...couldn't see him like he was anymore.
I am about out of the bird business...dogs got into them...only have about 12 pigeons...couple pair japs, few silkies, 2 moderns, couple OEGB, and my mutts...still have the quail
Not sure what I am doing...if I was closer they would be at the sale next Sat...
Oh Teach, I am sorry you had to put your dog down. I know that is something that is very hard.
A suggestion for the other dogs is to put them behind a hot wire or put the birds behind a hot wire. That is the only thing that has stopped mine. I hope you change your mind, you love your birds.
P&B : A pellet gun ???????????? LOL yeah and he's going to try Coq au Vin, this ought to be good Marybeth LOL. That meat bird special sounds good at those prices.
Teach : Jimmney Christmas what in the heck!!!!!, you lost that many birds. Wow and the dog, thats gotta be tough. Hang in there man we understand and are always here for ya.

Teach, it sounds like you have had a horrible day
It is hard to watch our favorite pets suffer and even harder to put them out of their misery when the time comes that they are in so much pain that we don't want them to suffer any more.
Get some sleep - you will be ready for some more birds in the morning when you have rested and don't have the imprint of the damage done by the dogs etched so firmly on your mind.
On a happier note, I sent you an email earlier this evening with information on a prize awarded to a teacher who successfully incorporates environmental education into their lessons. I hope you will self nominate yourself. With all your animals in the classroom, I am confident that you teach environmental responsibility.
Teach : what can we watch for you bird wise that is, maybe we could help you get re-stocked.
A couple of years ago I had to put down my best Horse I had for over 20 yrs, I did it myself and buried him under his favorite tree in the back pasture. talk about hard, I thought I was such a tough guy until then.
