Jim : Those Brunty Farms turkey pic's were awesome weren't they, too bad we couldn't make that work here, turkeys don't like brown grass LOL. he is gonna be one busy bee.

Mom isn't much of a computer or chicken person, but I can't hold that against here since she puts up with my birds and all the things that come with them

Yes, and the most impressive thing to me is he is going to process 30 a night AFTER HE GETS OFF WORK! Man, I barely have enough energy to feed and water mine, maybe move a couple of tractors, after an easy day at the library.

The fact that he's only 20 makes that a little easier to bear, yet only makes the feat of raising that many birds all the more impressive. He's one go-get-'em young fella!

On the free range issue, I think we probably have more predator issues in our area than in northeast Ohio, as well. I can't see a single dog watching over that many birds in our area, unless it is one heck of a dog. My turks are now all free range, but they live on the front of the property, and there aren't near that many. That's easier for my dog to handle.

Actually if you had one person scalding and plucking and one one the gutting station it would really go quickly. I can do one after the scald in about 15 min, It's not that bad you just have to get set-up and focus. I like doing it.

Yeah I hopw Big Q has an easy time of it, but something tells me he's and old pro at it.

Yeah still a big job, he sounds like a good kid with lots of ambition, I hope he does well. Jim are you still doing chores today ??.

Hello to all our new Okies who have decided to come on over to the dark side LOL.

Plain Old Dee - Welcome to our group ! And, as far as a hen's productive
life...LOL...is a joke around here. Of course, it matters how the hen is
taken care of...but...our "Mother Hen" that we hatch our show RIR's out
of will turn " 7 " next spring. She's still good for over 100 eggs a year. When
she poops out, we're gonna have her bronzed....LOL

Grace - You're welcome to do whatever you want with the picture. The
one that y'all posted of you with your ribbon really shows off those
beautiful cochins better. I know you're not planning to come to
Fayetteville, but you are gonna take them to Shawnee, aren't you????

Yes, we take a dip net to all these table shows....LOL Don't guess we
needed it inside at Eufaula, but a little boy turned a pair of small ducks
lose out in the parking lot.....LOL Even the most gentle of birds will
get spooked on occasion.

Dandelion - Are you and the girls coming to Fayetteville Friday night,
or waiting until Saturday morning?

Have a good one !

TJ's Na-Na :

OKCarla - How absolutely precious ! Looks like Little Miss Personality
to me.

Have a good one !

Thanks! She definitely is a happy baby, but of course she gets all the attention being the first grandkid on both sides.
