Hey we've been up the same amount of time! Only reason I'm still awake is the laundry. It'll be done in a few minutes though... can you tell I'm in a hurry?

Well, why don't you start one, Andreas. See how many of us join you there.

I am, however, an Okie. In just about every way you can slice it. I live in Oklahoma, my grandmother was born in Indian Territory, did stick it out here, and my dad and a couple of siblings went to California when there was money there and none here. Some of my family "stuck it out" and some of my family fled to California, although which group was smarter is a matter of debate (half of central California is owned and controlled by Okies).

I did expect to see a complaint from some stickler for semantics, though. I know how deeply ingrained the prejudice against us Okies is among some native Oklahomans. Me, I consider it a term of endearment and compliment. To call someone an Okie is to call him and her a good old folk.

Stick around. Maybe some of that will rub off.

Oh gosh, I got out of bed around noon, and I still feel completely exhausted.

Only reason I'm still up is because I have to go to walmart and I'm waiting on hubby to wake up from a nap... we're late-nighters.

I can't believe how far away you guys are from! How did you end up in OK? I've been here in the same town my whole life. I'm ready to move.

Just me... but the military. Seriously. Dad got out while at Tinker (medical discharge after 15 years). Been here since, minus a year of stupidity in Dallas.

I guess I'm the last one up tonight. We're waiting on the neighbors to get home. The kids are alone while mommy and daddy are at the casino. The oldest is 14 or 15 so its not too bad. The officer is waiting for them at their house. He said that he would have done the same thing and we wouldn't get in trouble. He just wants to stick around and make sure there are no confrontations when they come pick up their dead dogs. So it looks like we will be up for a while.

Just so I can be first:

GOOD MORNING OKIES!!!!

Good morning, Okies
Looks like it will be a beautiful day. It is 56 degrees this morning - hardly cold enough to bother with a jacket.
My mom asked me last night if I had cut back on my chicken population. Well, yes - I sold down to 20 layers last May - but then no, I have more 1-2 month old chickens running around than I can count, from mama hens that hatched out chicks over the summer. I did get rid of a bunch of juvenile chickens, runner ducks, guineas and a couple of turkeys at POOPS, so yeah, I have been downsizing ~ some.
