I did a part of a tour with Fox, 2/4, at Camp Kui on Okinawa. I receive the "Bast**ds Abroad" newsletter every month. Right now the Marines of 2/4 are afloat and training with Indonesian Marines.

PS: Before anyone twists a gut over my use of the word "Bast**ds", the 2nd Battalion of the 4th Marine Regiment is called "The Magnificent Bast**ds". Members of the BLT (Battalion Landing Team) are called the "Bast**ds From The Sea".

She tried to sell them and couldn't get any takers - horse prices are ridiculously low right now.

The gelding is a "medicine hat" buckskin paint with two beautiful blue eyes. He's a very gentle boy and the grandkids just love him. Dancer is a lot of horse - she threw her owner when the girl tried to show off how well broke Dancer was. That was after my daughter rode her and had no problems.

I am over fifty and just getting back into horses after a 20+ year hiatus. I'm hoping that I can get in shape enough to ride again (way over weight). I've ridden the gelding a bit, but haven't tried Dancer out since we brought her home. At my age, gettng thrown is just not a good thing!

Hubby was based in Okinawa at the time. He wound up being a door gunner on a helicopter, as I recall. I'll have to ask him (I'm at work and he's on his way to the feed store) so I can be sure...

Well, I have to mention my son-in-law. He was a Marine who was involved at the beginning of the invasion. I know he spent alot of time fighting in Ramadi. He was there for 2 tours. Was involved in a roadside bomb that knocked him unconsious and made him partially deaf. Stimp, you are right, once a Marine, always a Marine. He is a perfect example.

I hopped over to that 'longest thread' project a couple times. Basicly they're making their posts by begging all of us to come visit. Glad to see we are so popular on the BYC!

With tomorrow being Veteran's Day, I wanted to share some family info. We don't have any Marines in our family, but we did have Air Force and Army, on my side and hubby's. My grandpa spent three years in Germany during WWII. Hubby's grandpa was highly decorated in the Air Force, that is why we go to Tinker with his grandma for Thanksgiving. And my mom had an uncle who fought in three wars with the Air Force! We are very proud of them, and thankful of those who still protect us today.
