Finally, the smoke seems to be clearing around here.
Am finishing up another round of antibiotics for this
lung infection. Has been a real trip. Never a problem
that I thought I would have. Wish Quenston and I
could share. Fully dressed, the best I could come up
with on the scales was 111 pounds. I need the spandex
to pull up all this extra skin I seem to have acquired...LOL

Got Bill through surgery on his hand Tuesday...finally.
He messed around and admitted to the doctor that
he had taken a small dip before I woke up.....Men !!!!
We got there at 8:30, but because of the "dip", they
put the surgery off until 2:00 to let all that "stuff" get
out of his stomach. When they had him on the table,
he asked the doctor how long he would have to
wait for them to do the other hand. The doctor looked
at his "other arm", back at him, then back at his
arm. Then, the doctor told him he didn't figure he
could find the nerve in that one. The doctor and the
nurse about fell in the floor laughing. For those of
you that don't know "smart butt" Bill yet, he lost
his right hand just above the wrist 5 days before he
turned 6 years old. But, he is doing fine and enjoying
the relief in that hand and arm.

Thanks to one of Bill's cousins, I have one nice buck
ground and in the freezer. Good hunting vibes to
all of those that will be in the woods this weekend.

Will be having dinner later on today. I don't care for
storebought cranberry sauce. So picked up a case
of cranberries yesterday and had to get up and
do "home canned whole berry cranberry sauce"
this morning before I could start on dinner.....LOL

Yes, even though so many of our group are going
through so many trials right now, we do have sooooo
very much to be thankful for.

Na-Na - so glad to hear that you are starting to feel better and that Bill's hand surgery went well. Did the doctor finally have to give you some LS-50 to get you up and going again? A friend of mine developed a lung infection, probably from stirring up something while gardening, and she was told it could take 6 months to 2 years of antibiotic treatment to get it completely whipped. So, make sure the doctor knows what he is doing and keeps you on antibiotics of the right kind for however long it takes to get rid of what you got.

That dip is really addictive. I suspect Bill got himself a dip so automatically, it was in his mouth before he really even thought about it.

Home canned cranberry sauce sounds awesome. Your family is very blessed to be eating fresh and preservative free for the majority of your food. (please tell me that you use cake mixes and buy at least some store bought bread)

Eulaine great to hear from you have been wondering how you all are doing!!! Glad to hear that Bill done well with his surgery and his comment about his other hand does not surprise me a bit!!! Hope you get over the lung infection and my friend if I could give you some of this weight I would be more than glad to lol!!! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!!!

Just got in from the family function, and I didn't even cuss one kid!

It all went well and we ate wwwwaaaayyyyy to much. And I am sssooooo sleepy.

I know this may be TMI but our little Boer buck has FINALLY discovered he is a BUCK!! He is now driving the girls crazy sniffing and blahh at them (whispering sweet nothings in goat talk!)

Anyone goig shopping tomorrow? John really wants to, but I am NOT a morning person so it don't sound like a good idea to me.

Nana, I hope you are on the road to recovery cuz' someone has to keep Bill in line.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone. Hope all are properly stuffed.We made it to North Carolina last night about 11:30 their time(eastern). Had a great day of feasting and visiting with my sister and her family.Been looking in the papers and on the net but haven't found any chickens yet to take back home!Lol

Ok I am actually very pleased that I didnt stuff myself..... YET...

Just finished eating and will wait to dive into our pumpkin, apple and orange lemon meringue pies a lil later while we watch Disneys Pixar UP movie... anyone seen it already?

Anyhoot I tried to convince Jason that it wouldnt be wrong to introduce the cooked turkey to our live turkeys... but he said that is not nice..lol

I think Jason is getting soft on me when it comes to them birds.


Edit to add: Speaking of Turkeys was there someone on here a while back doing a big order of baby turkeys? and were looking to see if other folks were interested? If so and its not because I am halucinating this post... Jason and I are interested in helping out in a turkey order... If not and I was just seeing posts for no reason... Anyone have good recomandations on hatcheries or local breeders that sell day old baby turkeys that can be sexed....this would be for spring time but I was looking on McMurray Hatchery and they are all straight runs.... Jason and I want to raise turkeys....to raise turkeys for selfish reasons and for other folks that may want a grass fed turkey for their meal....if that makes sense... even though Jason and I's main thing is to help bring back some of these heritage breeds.

Eulaine I am glad to hear things are going better for you & Bill! I have been wondering and thought I might call if you didn't pop on soon.

I can't make up my mind on shopping. There is only one thing that I want so I am not sure it is worth it.
