Shavon - can you use vet wrap to tape up where it should be? That stuff doesn't slip much...or maybe an ACE bandage would work if you have one.

It has a cast on the bottom, but gauze on the top. This is then wrapped in a bandage.It is supposed to go from her fingertips halfway up her forearm. We went ahead and rewrapped it ourself because there is no way we can get back to the city this week. We just made sure her fingers did not move while they were unwrapped. I waited for my husband to get home so I had help. We didn't touch the bandagingthat was wrapped around her fingers. There was extra packaging there for obvious reasons. We placed the cast where it was supposed to be and wrapped it with new gauze and the elastic bandage.

Well I did say he is feather legged not feathers legged.

Is the Cuckoo still darker or has he seen the light?

Yes, he seems dark to me. He's not light looking like my barred rock rooster, then again I have a cuckoo marans hen that is darker so

. (I know, I know... I have both cuckoo marans & barred rocks

)

The welsummer is from part of a group I purchased from out of a bin that you'd brought in the Spring. However, I was thinking you were selling the chicks for someone else? I bought 6 of them. Down to two, a pullet and a cockerel (with double spurs). Not really wanting to keep the cockerel though.

Well I had a doctor appointment this morning, and it looks like we're finally getting somewhere! Some of you might remember, a couple years ago my husband was diagnosed with a bad case of mono. Well I of course was exposed to the virus, and my immune system has been fighting it since. Two years!!

Mono is caused by the epstein-barr virus, which is what I still have. It also causes pancreatitis, which I have now developed. Which all sucks, BUT the good news is, the doc is sending me some meds that will help stop the virus and calm my immune system. And someday I should be able to eat all the wonderful foods I've been missing out on, yay!

This also means no surgery! One doctor had me scheduled to meet with a surgeon today to have my gallbladder removed. Glad I didn't go through with that, I had my doubts.

Yay!
