There is a lady out here (Choctaw/Harrah) that has local honey. Her name is Dee.
Marybeth can put you in touch with her. I bet!

I just got caught up on the board. I have been so busy this weekend.

Poco, I am so sorry to hear about your guinea. A few months ago when it was still warm my D'Uccles and one white cochin would like to roost in the tree at night and I couldn't get them to come inside. As I was walking outside to check on everybody before going to bed (I like to go and check several times after putting them up) a huge bird went flying from that tree. I freaked out and was looking everywhere looking for my babies. I searched for almost an hour and kept going back and looking. I finally did find everybody. They had left the tree and were scattered, but I think it was an owl it was huge. After that I was able to get them to go inside instead of roosting. I am sure it was probably that white cochin that made them an easy target.

Faerie, Congratulations on the foo foos!

Do we have a count? We also need to see some pics! I love silkies!

It sounds like everybody is going to have so much fun at Shawnee and really wish I could go. I am still trying to figure it out, but this week is a crazy week for me with Finals and my daughter is getting ready for a performance that has me running to Tulsa everyday this week, ugggg. I am going to be so tired by next weekend, not to mention the things that she also wants to do next weekend. By the way, how far from Norman is Shawnee? Maybe I can make it all happen.

Kae, There are only three so far but there are some others pipping.
I have the thing wrapped up with so much stuff it is hard to peek into it.
Two white and one blue or black. Cant tell for sure yet.

Does your wife make good ole fashion Tamales at home, and if so she is my new friend

I will trample over small children to get some, and have been known to do so.

AL

She makes really good ones when I can get her to make them, they are a lot of work. When she does make them she'll make a bunch of regular ones and some that are for desert with pinapple & raisins. If we get to go to the next get together in the spring maybe I can talk her into making some.... but I'm not going to promise that they will all make it to the gathering

Well as long as Monty gets three or four then everyone should be ok with that.

I hear they are a lot of work to prepare. My neighbor is Mexican but she told me she doesn't make them because of the work involved and then I have been asking my wife's co-worker to make me some for years. She bought some for me in Dallas but she won't make them either. There are few places in South OKC where you can buy them by the dozen and there is a lady that sell them at the swap meet too. I sniff em out whenever I can.
