We are having a baked chicken, in coconut milk, curry seasoning, celery, lemon grass, some lemon pieces and juice, mushroom, cinnamon, cilantro, onion, a little sugar, salt, pepper, and some pieces of potato. But first I braised each side of the chicken in butter and tsp of sesame oil.
Oh, when it is mostly done, I might add some tomato pieces too (not sure yet, I am kinda wingin it).

Interesting. The guy didn't even mention the Hep B thing... I have had the Hep B vaccination twice, one series administered by the AF, one set administered at Norman Regional when I worked there. The first set didn't "take", the second set they drew a titer afterward and I finally had the antibodies.

Teach when did you get D'uccles?? Let me know I will be hatching this spring but I am in the market for 4 hens myself!!

I have a friend not too far from Tusa who raises really nice Cochins and D'uccles. I could put you in touch with her if you'd like. She gets her Cochins from the McGeehee brother (can't remember which one) who wins most of the shows.

I don't handle my chickens enough to get them tame enough to be held, but there are others that do hold their chickens. My suggestion would be to start with some silkies, since they are so calm by nature. BetsyOK could certainly fix you up on some of those.

If you just want some chickens for eye candy, I have quite a few Easter Egg crosses that I would be happy to share - both pullets and roosters. I suspect that with enough TLC and hand feeding, he could get just about any chicken to become a pet.

Salmon Faverolles are the friendliest we've had. They don't mind being picked up, and they follow me around (begging, probably) when I'm outside.

Yea let us know how that Christmas Shopping spree goes...LOL are you sure you wanna blow it now on chicks... ya know there will be chicks at POOPS? Just gotta wait few more months. LOL

He knows that I hate to go shopping by myself and my friend backed out at the last minute. So I probably won't be doing much shopping. Plus I will be alone with a cranky four-year old. bIt is always a good time to buy more chickens! I'm not sure I can make it until POOPS to get more. I want them now!!! Plus there is too much competition at POOPS, and them crazy peoples tend to get a little wild and crazy when they want a certain bird.

Yea like all them ol ladies that sit in the back and make it a big time bidding war.... I think the auction is rigged though, notice how Al always went looking to them gals that were flapping their numbers all over the place... I am surprized with Cammie that she didnt get a paper cut from being near them...LOL

And of course the raffle was totally rigged! Hey it was fun to watch them fight over the birds though! We seriously need to get some dates set for the next one, so I can get my countdown going.

And that is why I'm not letting the awful day I had at work get to me. I know I will have my cute little fuzzy wuzzy tonight! Which reminds me, has anyone used the little heated hand warmers for birds? I'm thinking of getting a few to stick in the cage with the chicks while I'm at the doctor's office tomorrow. If not, then I will have to leave them in McLoud and pick them up after the appointment and shopping spree.

I have used the hand warmers, but I wouldnt chance it with the temps we have been having.

Just wandering how and why you think that the raffle was rigged lol just because County road won most of everything??

Well, I am trying to use up things in the freezer and from the garden and really like Indian and Thai type foods, while also heating up the house some. I had something sort of similar at a Thai restaurant, and I just looked up a recipe online then I altered by adding some curry seasoning I have, some potatoes (I have a lot of them, bought a 50lb bag from guy by hwy), and tomatoes I have from garden, and eating up last of celery in fridge, some leftover fresh mushroom from preparations for last nights pizzas. In a way, I was just looking around and started throwing things in while following a recipe. I kinda do that a lot, start to follow recipe then alter it to how I want or to use up stuff before they go bad. We will see how it turns out. Charlotte came in from Girl Scouts and said 'Mmmm, it smells good in here mommy', so I am guessing that might be a good sign.
