Good morning, Sooner

My goal for the day is to scoop the snow out of the rabbit barn and add a couple of bags of shavings to the chicken coops. I also need to replace the nest liners in the two nests that got filled with snow from the window.

Good Morning P&B!!

You have goals??????????????????? Maybe I should set goals!!!!!!!! Hee hee, maybe not.

I do have to go out to work with the young ones at least to ge the snow out so they can move around.

Well she stayed at her cousins house last night, but she is usually in there and she dont seem to mind it. He is better and I keep telling her that she si going to have to get him back outside and she keeps putting it off....

Finished chicken chores. All the heated water dishes are working, probably too well, as I've still got a couple of birds who prefer to stand in the water rather than drink it. So far I don't see any evidence of frost bite on their toes. Maybe they have the same winter resistance as the Japanese Macaques who sit in the hot springs at Nagano.

Feeding was MUCH easier this morning since all the trails are well trodden. Still not for the faint hearted, but doable. There's no question of shoveling paths out, as the trails are much too long and several. All the chickens and guineas are doing well in spite of many of them being snow covered and missing their dinner last night. Vashi helped me with the poultry chores yesterday and today. No wind made it almost seem warm.

We have a strange blanket of snow overhanging the edges of our roof by about two feet. It looks like it is only about 2" thick, so it looks like a curtain. Our house is well insulated and it's still so cold it just slides down a little bit at a time and refreezes. I've never seen that before.
