But my questions would be,

1. How do llamas taste?
2. Do they taste better than goats?

llamas taste with thier tonges like most animals I suppose, and since they are larger in size the probably have bigger tonges and more taste buds than goats... so they probably taste better as well.

O' wait... was this a trick question

I love you guys! You crack me up. If I hadn't have already hatched this probably would have cracked my egg right open. Maybe I have just been out in the snow too much the last few days, sledding down the big hill out back.

None of my grandkids got that memo either. DH and I took all five camping this summer. Learned real quick that was a bad idea. They all wanted to talk at once...nonstop...to anyone and everyone within sight. Oldest step-granddaughter(10-year-old) talks faster than a normal human being can hear! DH and I were talking to the couple camped next to us, and all of a sudden, oldest step-granddaughter was in the middle of us rattling on about a friend named Brittany that she met in school who had a new puppy but the puppy bit her (Brittney?) so they shot the puppy and everyone was very sad and then they got a chicken but the chicken pooped and they got rid of the chicken and got a rabbit but the rabbit died and everyone was sad and a horse was in the pasture across the road and the horse was pretty and they couldn't ride the horse because it wasn't theirs and that made them sad and then they had to go back to school and and and and and and...

It all came out in less than two seconds, and I missed most of it!!! We could only stand there with our mouths open like drowning fish. I took her aside and told her it was rude to interrupt adult conversations unless it was an emergency - she countered with her daddy told her if she had something to say she should just speak right up. Dear Daddy got told she could go camping with us again when she learns some manners. The other two step-grandkids aren't quite as talkative, but instead of talking fast like big sister, they talk LOUD to make up for it. We have a lot of work ahead of us teaching them how to behave. (Has anyone here had to deal with serious behavioral issues in children? These had no discipline at all until their dad married our daughter. To make matters even worse, turns out their mom was using bad stuff while she was pregnant with them...and it shows! I used to work in a substance abuse treatment center, and learned all about FAS and it's effects on children, but nothing was ever mentioned on how to raise the children that suffer from it...)

WOW! I was rolling with laughter. I can totally picture this. My parents are divorced and when we were kids we only got to see our dad during the summer or Christmas break, they lived several states apart. So when we were first picked up by the parent we hadn't seen in a while, either the whole year of stories or summer came out in just a few seconds. The younger ones probably talk loud so that they could be heard over the older one, since she was probably talking first and never stops to breath. So it is perhaps a learned behavior to be heard! I am just giggling imagining this whole episode.
When my daughter comes and interrupts any conversation I try to stop her immediately and remind her that she is interrupting and needs to wait until whomever is done talking, unless it is an emergency of course. It just seems to take reminding from time to time. She sometimes does it when I am on the phone too, but I still do not tolerate that either bcs she is still interrupting and I am trying to listen to the person on the other end. However, her daddy seems to have that same problem too, so I also have to tell him, LOL. My parents were very strict and didn't tolerate those behaviors so I try and distill those same belief in my daughter and sometimes husband too.

Wow! Talk about talking a lot, I think I am the only one talking here. Where did everybody go? Sorry if my chatter has scared everybody away! I guess it wouldn't be the first time for me talking to myself, LOL. As long as I don't start answering my own posts!

Oh wait, maybe I need to stop the coffee chocolate mixture bcs now I am cracking myself up. I sure hope the husband returns home soon so I don't drive all you guys crazy with all of my posts.

My daughter's father has ADD/ADHD combination type and takes the highest allowed adult dosage for it. My daughter has been on the verge for a very long time. That's why certain foods and additives aren't allowed (because they can cause a borderline kid to fall over the edge). She and I have worked quite a bit on slowing down when she talks, speaking up (because it would be 100+ wps at a very low volume), not interrupting adult conversations, not interrupting telephone calls, being patient, waiting for other kids to catch up, etc. She plays soccer because her pediatrician suggested it as a way to help burn off excess energy.

While she doesn't have all the markers for a child with ADD/ADHD or the combination type, I keep a *very close eye* on her. Between that, and her father's mother being a rapid cycling bipolar who has refused medication most of her adult life (and lost custody of her own kids over it), it promises to be a very exciting time when my daughter gets a bit older.

sounds like you are doing all the right things for your daughter.

I strongly agree! It is good to hear that you aren't jumping on the band wagon to just medicate. Many studies have shown that ADD can be controlled by diet. I really believe that all of the bad foods we have here in the West are causing many conditions in our young population. When you don't have the proper nutrition it makes the body very unbalanced including mental status. All of this junk food we have here is causing more and more diseases and conditions to appear and it is very sad to see. I was part of a study a few years ago with school aged children and the improper diets in the school system and having soda and snack machines as well as the lack of exercise in the school has really increased Diabetes, Obesity, Heart problems and many other conditions. When I was a child everybody all the way through High school had gym class everyday. Now they have taken this from most schools and the obesity is on the rise in our very young population. If something isn't done we are going to see an exponential increase in disease as these children grow up.

Faeries Happy Birthday!!! Hope you had a great one, I will be catching up with the 30 mark in March.

KrazyKate I have to agree some people tend to go strait to medication, my son is ADD with violent tendencies, we went 3 years trying the diet change and therapy etc but nothing seemed to help, my son was not allowed in public school so we were forced to home school him through Kindergarten and 1st grade we then could no longer afford to do home schooling, he was very violent and would lash out for no reason so I thought punishment and then seen that he couldnt control it, so after 3 years of trying the different things we finally got him on medication, the bad thing is that most of these medications almost made him a zombie, but we finally found one that works he is in 4th grade now strait A student and has never been in a fight, so what did I say this all for??? Oh yea to agree with ya I remember now!!!!

QUESTION? I just happen too remember that i needed to get feed for ducks and chickens today, well its to late for feed store.... so i was wondering can i feed them deer corn i do have some of that??? i thought about giving them some dog food but i really hate too feed them that since i eat them eggs!!1 it dont sound very appealing too me!!! but i am also afraid the corn is too big for the chickens mouths...

If they can get it in their mouth they will eat it! The dog food would be good also. It will be "processed" by the time the egg comes out. Not any worse than the worms and other little dirt things they eat!

Shell - if you have cat food, that's better and higher in protein than dogfood. Both are actually made from ingredients that are reasonably safe for human consumption - though I wouldn't want to eat it myself. My girls have both been caught eating it when they were little, and they came to no harm. I had panicked and called their pediatrition, who said "and?" He wasn't the least bit concerned!

Our daughters are close in age. When I make it to the city again we should get together, and let the girls play while we talk silkies and fairies. Our Christmas tree is dangly ornaments and fairies. My daughter and I both like Fairies. She loves Tinker bell!

My daughter is big on Tink. Like seriously big on Tink. Her bedroom is painted pink, with big Tink wall art. I don't mind Tinkerbell at all, but the pink room? Ah well. At least it's only paint!

A little story for you all about pet food.

A friend picked up a load of Tuna bound for one of the cat food mills back in the late 70s. As was standard procedure they tested for Mercury, found it to be too high and rejected the load. The Tuna ended up at a mill for human consumption as the Fed. standards were much lower then the company standards that made the pet food.

Yep beside the meat by-products dry pet food is made from the same grain that is put into cereal or any other grain based product for human consumption.
