Well, I think I finally did it. I am all caught up with the posts, yeah! Only took me a few hours now that I look at the time on my computer, uh oh. Now maybe I should get to some of my chores, LOL.

Just don't let anyone hand her a baby chicken "to hold" Gerald/Egg-Man has caused us to go home with many a chicken or turkey by allowing my 6 year old grandson "to hold" the chicken/turkey.

Gerald/Eggman is always pulling that on me too, he loves to try and get me to buy rabbits every time I bring my Daughter to the sale barns LOL. Marybeth you have also tried your hand at that sly trick too if I remember correctly.

Homemade lasagna sounds good, although I can't get my youngest son to eat it. He prefers Stoufer's lasagna.
I have been doing errands and spent a few hours at the church kitchen, working on a project for Valentines. Since it still above freezing, I am ready to go out and clean rabbit barns. Now that the snow has melted, the one with the plywood floor and 18 inch snow drifts inside, is a MESS! Fortunately, I actually enjoy doing it - there is something restful about a rabbit barn. Now, the chicken coops can wait until Spring. They aren't wet so they are by definition, "just fine"

My Granddad called his place Gobbler's Knob. Ironically, he didn't keep turkeys and his entire property was in a meadow, surrounded by rolling hills.

My dad would have used reverse psychology, like making a kid smoke until he puked to convince him not to smoke. Following this logic, the first step of any Chicken Addict 12 Step Program ought to be for anyone with a chicken addiction ought to set at least 40 eggs by tomorrow morning. After 21 days (is that the number of days it takes to break a habit????), set another 40 eggs, and so on until the addiction is conquered.

Does anyone know if the old Montgomery Ward incubators are any good? I have the option to buy one and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them. It is a four shelf cabinet unit. I haven't looked at it yet, but the owner said that it works fine and still looks good. It was manufactured in 1975.

This sounds like the program I am going to be starting! Although, the hatch I am starting on right now I am not thinking are going to make it. I think they got too chilled in shipping during this winter blast. The eggs were delivered and put in the snow and we didn't discover them for a while, even though I was circling our house on all of the porches to make sure. Normally, my postal carrier delivers them right to the door, but for some reason they left them out in the snow out at the street and I am not sure how long they were there, ugggg. I placed them in the bator anyways, last weekend.
