No I will have to run to town and get one. This seams serious time wise, should I cut the light down until i get back? Do I seperate the wounded? Do I treat them with some ointment?

Thanks. Im calling walmart to see if they have them. they were out for last 2 weeks, but Great they have them. I will seperate and change bulb tonite and treat wounds tomorrow. Thanks for the support and info.

i am willing up at 2 a.m. sigh... actually i have an older house dog that has a chronic cough, think it may be kennel cough, and he gets at the bedside and just hacks away.... he is also blind, so its just a matter of patience, but it also means i am up for a couple hours till ke settles down

Are you going to put your foo foo boots to the test and see if they will keep your feet dry or are they too pretty to actually wear and get dirty? One thing about this morning's 17 degree temperature, the mud will be frozen so we won't sink down into it. I noticed yesterday morning how convenient that was.

Good Morning everyone! I got the lights changed out to red and was affraid that I would find a pile of feathers in the brooder this am. They seam to be doing well.

I am going to buy BluKote today. Are there any other meds, lights, or emergency supplies that you would suggest for me to keep on hand?

About my wounded babies--About 8 babies were wounded at tailfeathers or wings. will I need to to keep those 8 in one seperate group or 8 individuals to let them heal?

BRRR!!! its 17 here this morning,our lowest this year. Have a skiff of snow and flurries blowing in the wind with some blue sky showing!Looking out the window looks like the birdies are all up and moving around.Guess I need to go out and give themn all a drink of water.
Wonder if grackles/starlings are good to eat ? Every community seems to have thousands. I am watching a flock of over a hundred feeding on the ground outside my window. If only our domestic birds could produce so abundantly and thriave so well. I hate them when they try and nest in the coops. But up close they really are quite pretty.
