Stimpy,

My biggest White Rock chick's tail looks to be about 30 degree angle. Nice straight toes. Nice red comb & wattles. I'm assuming it's a he. I'm

he will turn out really nice for exhibition.

Wow. Days like this are what I live for on my job.

Surrounding school districts bussed in 1200 kids for performances the last two days. I did 45 minute shows of juggling, storytelling, puppets, music, and magic for five groups of first graders. Those things wear me out, but boy, did we have fun!

I'm no longer a children's librarian, but our youth person was kind enough to let me continue doing them after she came on. The Lawton Area Reading Council sets the whole thing up.

It kind of makes me miss my former life as a kids' performer.

Thanks for sharing the pic's. I love to see 2nd generation of what I bought as hatching eggs, a few years ago. If I forgot to tell you, she is a descendent of cuckoo marans from Kelly Cratty bloodline, supposed to be some of the best in the country.

I've been really disappointed with some of the other marans variety eggs I've bought for hatching, or what I have laying now of my splash marans and some of my black copper marans ... they aren't even dark enough eggs to be classified as marans, based on the marans egg color scale.

Just got home about 45 minutes ago...

Daughter had an eye appointment across town at 2:30ish... my dad took her. I got the glorious news that my 9 year old needs bifocals! Not progressive bifocals, they do absolutely nothing for children, but an inset round lens set at mid-eye (trifocal height). Lovely.

Took Mom to the meat market, she got about 6 pounds of cube steak (what they make chicken fried steak out of) and I got 2 roasts. 1 roast will feed us for 3 days, approximately. I'd love to buy a quarter or half of a cow, but don't know anybody who could do that and I can only afford that once a year... which of course is next month when I get my refund. I'd buy one of the bulk boxes, but Wheelers doesn't allow substitutions except on the high dollar box and the standard boxes contain pork, which no one in my entire family will eat... and trying to find someone else to buy it just ain't gonna happen.

Get back to the house and the silkies are running around the living room

There's chicken poop all over my living room floor! The lid to the brooder wasn't on tight and they got out. Found 4 of them quickly... the 5th took me darned near a half hour to find.

I'm now exhausted.

Just got home from picking up birds from Ilovesilkies, talk about a nice couple to visit with and a first class chicken operation they have. We had a good time in spite of driving through thick fog.
From Stillwater to Tulsa it was thick enough to slow me down and that doesn't often happen. Then dropped down by Prague and checked that out, seemed to be a little slow there so we came on home. Left out at about 5:30am and rolled back into the house at 6:15. But we had a good day.

Thursday night is her night to go to Jones. She hasn't missed very many of them since Damon started it back up.

I wish more would take notes on how the Perkins auction is run, might start misc. and poultry just a few minutes late but if they say hay sells at noon you can set your watch by it, same way if they have cars or machinery to sell.
