My rott killed one chicken when we first got them and I took him inside made him lay down on his side and sat a chick on his shoulder. I would not let him move or smell it, the only thing he was aloud to do was look at it. I did that until he gave up and layed his head down to go to sleep with the chick still sitting on him. We continued this with other chickens daily. walking him around them and anytime he smelled the air for them (or anything else that seemed inappropriate) he got in trouble. He now thinks the chickens are his and he protects them, nothing gets near my chicken pens without him knowing and he gets rid of whatever was around them. He has dissappeared for most of the day tracking down and killing whatever was near the pens. He also trains any other dogs we get to leave the chickens alone.
