Hey Les...if you came to Tandy's place to get the NN's you drove right by my house to get there.

Wish I'd known you were coming I'd love to have seen you all.

I told Teva that I wish I knew where you taught school, we would have dropped by and did a little show and tell with the birds.

Coming off of 412 I almost ran the first traffic light in Catoosa because of the fog but on the way back it had lifted somewhat so I got to see the big blue whale!!

How about covering the cages with a blanket or old towel and then covering all of that with a blue tarp?

Did you make it to Prague yesterday? were there any cages there early in the day?

I dont know if I have a spare tarp laying around, but if I can find one that is what I plan on doing.

We did make it to Prague... nothing we were looking for so we went home early. We had a list a mile long yesterday!

the day started with leaving the house at 8am to go to Prague, we got home around 11am. Then we finished fixing the broke pen and moved the birds back into it, then we fixed another pen up for the ducks, we finished with all of that around 1:45. then we left the house to go get the ducks about 2. Visited with the lady we got them from until 3 and got home and had everybody situated by 3:30. My daughter called about that time and needed a ride home so went and picked her up from school, talked to teach on my way home from that and gave him directions. He showed up at my place about 4:30 and we visited, he left here about 6. I left the house at 6:30 to take my boys to the skating rink, got back home at 7 , put Carl in the car and left the house at 7:05 to go meet Stimpy to pick up his eggs for incubating, got there about 7:30 left him and his wife just before 8. Stopped at sonic on the way home as I was completely exhausted and got home about 8:30. I hopped in the shower to relax my shoulders then crawled in bed to stretch out about 9:30. Told Carl he was picking the boys up from skating and I was out before 10.

Going to be another long day today.

Jim, you are still a kid at heart. I like that. Those kids will remember their trip to the library as a fun experience and want to go visit again.

A kind way of saying I'm childish?

BTW, have you ever noticed how young children laugh not just with their face and voice, but with their entire being? When they get going like that, I think I'm the one actually being entertained.

Especially when some 200 or so are doing it at the same time. Cracks me up!

hello everyone!

I'm trying to find information on sexing chicks. How soon can you tell and how. If you could please lead me to the information. My first babies are 4 weeks old and my second set hatched yesterday.

I have not had time to chat for awhile. I have been remodeling my chicken Castle coop and building a more moderate coop. I have also been chasing equipment, new Hens and pen materials. Keeping the brooder fragerance from the house is becoming difficult.

I got a homemade brooder box but had to move the chicks back inside. The heat lamps caused the humidity to raise above 90% and kept my chicks wet. I need a new plan for brooding in the unheated barn.

Sounds like you don't have enough ventilation, even though you are trying to keep them warm there still has to be airflow in the brooder. Try drilling a few small holes both top and bottom and see if that helps the holes can be covered with cloth squares to prevent drafts from blowing in.

Fizzle - I agree with you about losing their "country". I wouldn't want to eat another egg store. I want FRESH! And those hybrids just aren't right.

Steph - Yesterday sounds horrendous. I hope today is better.

I've been thinking of going to Prague. Maybe next month. I've heard some interesting stories of all the strange animals. I still can't get over the name (Prague). I went crystal shopping in Prague, Czechoslovakia once. The highlight of my shopping trip was buying a chandelier. It's hanging in my bathroom now.
