AL

Thank you Al. I was starting to worry too! Seems that after knocking myself out two nights in a row I have gotten rid of it. I feel human again!

I keep meaning to go, and crap always comes up or like this past weekend, I get sick. Heck, I'm still not feeling good but I had to go to work, so here I am.

I've made the decision that I shall say I'm NOT going, that way anytime I *can* make it, I can just show up.

Next Saturday is already a bear... I have to drop off three dogs to be spayed (stupid neighbors who don't take care of their dogs, then ABANDON them in an empty back yard, should be shot... the shelter is overloaded and can't take them, so my parents are helping me get them spayed... they're thinking about keeping two of them), then have to take D and my Mom for their allergy shots. I won't know until I get a call from the clinic that day on what time to pick them up. Maybe 3ish? If it's early enough, I'll try to go, but if it's later I don't know.

Morning everyone!!! Sooner glad to see that you kicked the headache!! I got my brooder done yester day and after all materials were bought i have $15 in the whole thing, I will take some pics of it tonight. What time does the Blanchard Auction start???

I agree! We gont watch sports at our house. We will gladly go to games and the kids are encouraged to join them but its just not a TV item.

Well, to me, pro football is one of the few things worth watching on TV now days. That and The Office. Everything else is just a waste of time.

I love the drama of sports. Completely unscripted drama. In a good close game, you don't know who is going to win until the last minute, sometimes the last second. When it is over, you have a complete story, with a cogent beginning, middle, and an end. Quite often a surprising end. Can't say that with much of the rest of television.

I like football (Go Vikings) but I think it would be a much better game if the teams played a 3 game series like in baseball. Everyone says the game is to hard on the players for that, ha!, for the money they make they shouldn't be such whinners.

I'm a baseball nut! But I could make that a better game as well with just a few rule changes.

1) If a fan in the stands throughs a homerun ball back onto the field it should be counted as a double. This would get the fans into the game and make it more interesting for those who are paying the players.

2) If a runner is stealing a base a player should be able to throw the ball at him, if it hits the base stealer he is out. That would make them think twice about stealing second, would make an attempt at stealing much more exciting, & I doubt you would see helmets flying off the players head during the attempt.

3) No astroturf.

See, you make my point. Why we love or hate teams has no basis in rational thought. To hate an entire team because of what individual members of that team have or have not done has no logic to it, even if we try to convince ourselves otherwise. We latch onto our tribes, finding reasons to love them, and find reasons to dehumanize and thus hate the other tribes.

Nothing wrong with that, of course. It is a healthy outlet for some of our more destructive human instincts.

Did you just defend a child molester? I'll tell you what, she lives there in Cyril, maybe you should ask her if what she feels has no basis in rational thought? And it was how the team reacted to the incident that made me and everyone who knew the family hate that entire organization. But by all means, continue to cheer your heart out for them.
