Basic stuff... I don't have much in the way of building materials. I've got a list of stuff I need for the shed, but still debating whether or not I can make actual runs for the chickens too.

I'm apparently easily confused too. Half tempted to go sit in a corner with a dunce hat on.

No rational reason, actually. I don't like him as an owner, because I don't like the way he runs his football team. If he fired himself as GM and just wrote the checks and stayed off the sidelines, I'm sure I'd be fine with him.

As to the rest, I don't root for organizations or coaches or owners. I have big problems with that part of the Cowboys quite often. I root for the guys on the football field. And when I have a problem with one of them, it stays with that player and doesn't spread in my mind to the rest of the team.

I will say one thing for Jones, though. He fired the guy that created the atmosphere that condoned the behavior Ervin and others were displaying during that era. Took him too long to figure it out, though. He shouldn't have hired Switzer in the first place.

The hawk succumbed to an attack of lead poisoning. It was most amazing. One minute he was fine, and quick as a flash, he was dead as a hammer. If I hadn't been watching it thru my scope, I'd never have believed it.

Buster, I am trying to stay out of the football talk. I would like to talk about it when we see each other though.
I had some close ties to that Cowboy team when Jimmy and Barry were coaching. Deon was more of a problem to the team than Ervin although Ervin was a bigger stigma because of his off the field crap. Sorry!

What projects do you have going for this beautiful day?

I took my magnifying glass out there just now and looked at the bird's eyes. They look normal, yellow with black pupils. No gray color, no cloudiness, no worms. Odd eh? Just sudden blindness.

Hopefully it is just a slight case of Botulism and will pass. With all of the moisture plus the rising temps the bird could have gotten into some rotting vegatation but a thought just occured to me too. Do you have a lot of Oaks on the property? The Tannin (sp) produced by Oaks is bad for critters but I don't remember just how. Some of it may be in high concentrations in some of the standing water. I will have to look that up later this evening.

Les, I was just thinking about the Tannin poisoning this morning. When it rains it falls off the trees and gets in the waterers and puddles.
i emptied a waterer this morn that was totally brown from the rain that dripped off the trees.

YIPPEE!!!! My Wheatens are laying! Got the first egg this morning, noticed she was on the nest & waited for her to get up. Ran out to check & there it was, YEAH!!!!!

Nope, no oaks, unless it's in the feed but I don't think it is, I'll have to look. I'm not sure what to do with the bird. Just to be safe I've taken it out of the growout pen to keep it away from the others, but it can't see to eat or drink. If it does not come around soon I suppose I'll have to cull it.
