Oh Tandy...thank you so much. I think I just moved them all over at the same time. I hope I didn't kill them doing that. I usually leave them for 4 or 5 days just to see if they hatched. Oh yeah I might get some more.
As for the eggs I would love to get more eggs but we just bought a used tractor today and now we will have to really watch our pennies. Thanks anyway.

Well, I know that we need the low impedence for sure--we just aren't sure how strong of a charger that we need--they measure the output in joules...from 0.25 to 6.0 and higher. We just want to be sure that whatever comes sniffing around (racoons too!) gets a lesson that they won't soon forget!
Let me see if I can look up the specs on my favorite charger as it's not listed on the case.
Evening everyone!
Quick ninja post before I head to bed. Long day tomorrow with work then first class of the semester starts. Well it is the only class I actually have to attend, since I am finishing up my directed project so I can graduate in May.
15 weeks to go!!! "A Jill of all trades a Master of none...."
I wanted to thank for all the post about our electrical. Uli is going to handle that aspect of house repairs. I do not really like to do electrical, scares the poop out of me.. Had an uncle who was electrocuted, blew out the palms of his hands and bottoms of his feet, he was never the same afterwards, it was really sad.
Q - that favorelle rooster I got from you is so sweet and nice. One of my stupid cochin roosters, half his size, was trying to start crap with him and he just walked away, didn't raise a hackle or anything. I totally love these birds and may need to get more.
Ok quick announcement, I got an email from Purely Poultry and they have some of their heritage breed turkey poults available. Purely Poultry and McMurry are the two main hatcheries that actually have a sizable breeding flock of bourbon reds. Ideal and several other hatcheries actually purchase the poults from other hatcheries to have them drop shipped. I am going to order from Ideal and Purely Poultry on Monday February 2nd. Barnswallow is going to order some chicks with my order with Ideal. If anyone wants to get in on either order please let me know as soon as possible so I can contact both hatcheries for shipping costs, etc. Also I am not having the chicks sent until the first of March so I can get the chicks in the brooders now out to the grow out pen. I hope this is not a problem for anyone but thought you should know if you are ordering to get chicks right away.
Well I am off to bed. Long day tomorrow to start off a long week. Have a good one everyone!
No problem Donna i can understand pinchin penny's no fun huh. but remember i would do some trading for some silkie eggs or frizzles too. i moved my silkies to a bigger pen (the one i had the NN in) so i have lots of room in there. LOL!
Ok mine is a Parmak model CC which I don't believe is made any more and has been superceded by other models. If I remember right though it was for a 15 mile run of fence and should be comperable to the other 15 mile range charger listed on this page. I wouldn't reccomend a hot charger around small children though as they can suffer severe injury or death if the conditions are just right.
If my neck would pop again, I'd feel a lot better.
Finally caught up on reading... good thing I read fast.
Now that those danged meat chickens are no longer alive/breathing/eating, I can save money towards the new coops (remodeled metal sheds) that will be going in my back yard once I get everything squared away. I have a funny feeling that I'll be doing a lot of raking and stuff to clean off the slab that's already out there. Will be easiest to sink the anchors for a shed there. Also have to clear off and level and area for a second shed on the opposite side of the yard. That area I'm going to need to buy a foundation kit for it, or figure out if it would be easier/more cost effective (and time IS a factor in determining if something is cost effective) to build & pour my own foundation for the second shed.
My brain hurts too much right now so it won't do me any good to evaluate the cost tonight. This is just random blathering.
