The little black chick looks to me like a possibly Polish mix. She's super cute.

How old is the Serama? I ask because my young birds changed quite a bit as they got a little older. I'm assuming she has not started laying because of her comb. The wings are supposed to be straight down and the tail straight up. As they mature, their posture seems to become more upright. A postal scale works very nice in getting their weights. Give her some time to mature. The first color the SCNA is trying to get recognized by the ABA is white. Your girl is very close to that.

She hatched just before POOPS. It was at the end of August. She is almost pure white, she has about four black specks and the tips of her tail feathers have black smudges.

Edited to add that she usually stands up straighter. She tends to squat when she knows I'm taking pictures.

I'm headed to bed now. Good night all.

OMG....I just heard the weather for our area and they are saying we could get 1/2 in. of sleet, freezing rain, and 12+ inches of snow on top of that. One of their monitors said we could 3 feet of snow but they said surely that was wrong. I can't even imagine 3 ft. of snow.

We'll have to tie a rope from the house to the barn like in the olden days to make it to take care of the animals. If the electricity goes off I'm sure going to lose a bunch of eggs in the bator.

Matt...do you have any eggs in your bator. I do but the problem is they are at my mom's house across the pasture. We have a new generator but it's not going to help me up there at that house.

I went to the store today but didn't get finished. Had to come home and feed chickens and get the generator ready. I love snow but not ice.

Well, got to get to bed. I would have been there but my friend called and told me the snow news. Night.

In what section do you find "glycerine" at the grocry store? What is it normally used for?

In the old days it was used to keep folks regular, among other things, so I would look around that area. I use it for my bubble solutions for making super gigantic bubbles for kids shows. Add a tablespoon to 1 part Dawn to 10 parts water. The glycerin keeps the bubble wall from evaporating quickly.

Grady?? That's so cool. It took me a while to get him to one, now I guess he is hooked. Glad he made it to Blanchard and that there were plenty of birds.
