Carla - Did you read that somewhere or just make it
up ? You need to be writing songs !!! We may all
be singing that one before this one is over.

P&B - Thanks for your list !!! Found a couple that I
hadn't thought of.....LOL

"Think" we're pretty well ready for whatever...
provided we aren't looking at two weeks of
no power......but out here in "toolieville" 9 miles
north of Tahlequah, am sure we'll be the last
ones on their list.

Y'all take care through this.

Sounds like everyone is pretty well prepared. Usually when you are ready for it ,it doesn't amount to much, hope its that way this time for you guys. We are supposed to get it fridayall day and night ending sat a.m.Ill batten down the hatches tomorrow. Our electri used to go out all the time but for the last year its been real stable. Hope it stays that way,we are all electric!

(big mistake when we built this place! )Hope this all blows thru before we get called back for our friends funeral.Poor family haveing to deal with that and this storm too. They live on a farm and have (or did last I knew) several head of cows.

BigOkie sounds like those coops are going to go fast. You made a good haul on that deal!

Stimp: Thanks for your reply. Since we don't have anything resembling animal control in this part of the county, the local sheriff advises property owners to do just as you suggested. I've got my revolver loaded, and my flashlight batteries are fresh.

I'm still feeling sick about finding my birds. The dogs didn't just kill, they tortured, disemboweled, and mutilated the first rooster, and because of the blood patterns in the second pen I'd say they tortured, tortured, tortured, mutilated, and then killed the second rooster. They didn't even have the decency to eat him.

Much better. The fuzzy dude seems to be just fine. I think he was trying to freak me out. For his trouble, I scheduled him a full vet checkup for next Monday, including bloodwork, fecal exam, and teeth cleaning. Teach him to make me worry... he'll pay for it.

I'm debating a cabinet incubator. I was looking at the Brinsea 20x, but for a couple hundred more, I could score a brand new Sportsman. I'm not smart or talented enough to fix up an older cabinet incubator. I also have 3 lines of MFCs to work with in the project, and I need to be able to hatch a few of each line to work on the project (hence the earlier post about needing a growout pen).

What I really need is 3 acres with a house on it. But I can't afford that.

so I'll stick with using converted sheds to keep the town off my back.

Wait .. what?

Did I read somethig wrong? I was awfully tired last night. 12 hour night shifts should be outlawed.

Yeah... accidentally said Stimpy, but it's Okie-Doodle.
