No, Scooter is an OEGB. This is the rooster I picked up at your place.

His two hens have not started laying yet, hope they start soon!

Gosh he is pretty!!!!!!

I am home safe & sound from work. They did close the road up the mountain to my house after I made it home (barely) & left again with my oldest son driving his 4 wheel drive.

Cuban - didn't I warn you about going to school! Silly girl! I am working on a game roo from a friend for that saipan and a hen I picked-up at the auction...gotta get some stuff figured on placement first! Already had a couple fights that didn't end well

Just caught the 5:30 news on TV. That weather man is nuts, he said they are still expecting a full 6 inches of snow before it's said and done. We have more than 6 inches already and it's still falling!!

Al called earlier, said he had spoke to some of the electric crews in his area and that they are expecting about 15 day no electric in that area. Sounds like he is going to have fun. Still havent heard from Stimpy.

Went out at 5:30 to feed and check on the chickens. With all the snow, it was still as bright as daylight. The light on the power pole hadn't come on, so I think the reflection from all the white on the ground fooled the sensors. Weird.

No stray dogs today. I hope they went home. I heard a lot of yelling and some shooting around noon at the farm northeast of our place. I hope what I heard was the strays getting caught raiding the neighbors barn.

I stuck a ruler in the snow near the power pole in the yard. 5 3/4 inches so far. The ruler hit hard, though, so I think there's probably an inch of ice under the snow. Six more inches is going to keep me inside except to care for the chickens. I'll need a shovel tomorrow to get the doors on the pens open.

Does anyone raise show girls? I'm going to need some eggs in March for a research project at school. If you do, send me a PM regarding prices and availability. I'm hoping to find white, but other colors will have to do if white isn't available.

We worry abaout the wild birds, and now the word is out: lots of food available here! We're used to seeing 7 pairs of Cardinals, numerous Juncos, a few Carolina Chickadees, Tufted Titmice, Downey Woodpeckers, Red-bellied Woodpeckers, Blue Jays, various sparrows and several other varieties of birds. This morning, Vashi counted 13 pair of cardinals, and later I counted at least 30 pairs (of course we're only counting the males; it's too hard to count both)! We also had at least one bluebird, several Goldfinches, a pair of tri-colored blackbirds (we rarely see them, especially not at the feeders), a trio of cowbirds (boo!), as well as the other usual birds. I know we had at least 100 birds in that small area most of the afternoon and evening. We've run out of birdseed (I forgot to remind Vashi to stock up on it yesterday), but I searched on the internet to see what things we have on had we could feed them. Several of the grains I feed my poultry can be fed to them, which I knew, as well as oatmeal, cornmeal, bananas, raisins, and lots of other things. We have enough to feed in the morning, but if Vashi can't get in to buy more, they may have slim pickings tomorrow evening. It's a serious situation for the wild birds.

Hope lots of others are also feeding them. With everything coated with ice, they don't have access to any of their usual food. We've also poured warm water in the birdbath over and over. We didn't get a de-icer for it this year.

We've enough snow on the trees surrounding the poultry pens that the snow is doing a good job of insulating them and keeping them quite comfy.

Hope everyone stays safe and warm!

Yeah, I have some of the same breeding out on my yard right now.

They're out of one of my golden duckwing cubalaya stags. We ended up with wheatens, golds, a rare blue/gold stag, and a couple of blue wheaten pullets. I kept three pullets, still haven't decided which males of mine to keep. I need to make a decision soon, because they are starting to pick fights all over the place! Beautiful little birds. Hoping I can take a few to pryor for the show, if my entry gets accepted.

I figured you knew/dealt with the breeder, but I wanted to point it out anyway

Why wouldn't your entry get accepted??..... Oh do you think they've run out of space! That would be aweful for you and me both since I haven't even mailed my form yet
