Thanks for the stray strategies. DH is traveling this weekend, so I may stay up late tonight and Saturday night, watching and waiting. I didn't know about aspirin, so that's a consideration. I prefer to shoot the bastages if I can catch them on the property. Two nights ago I startled them (and myself) as I was coming out of the barn. The smaller of the two was next to the horse trailer, and he bloodied his head on the hitch trying to duck under really fast. That was the first time in weeks that I hadn't had my revolver strapped to my hip.

I am in the process of building pens inside the barn. The pens will have access to covered runs outside. I'll be using chain link for the exterior of the outside pens. So far, only the birds in kennel wire pens have been killed. A 40 lb. dog can tear up the welded kennel wire, so I'm not going to use it for future building projects outside. In the mean time, I'll put up a third electric wire

One wire wasn't enough. Two was annoying enough to keep them from taking the bird out of the pen. Three is going to cause more discomfort (hopefully I'll hear them when they are stung by the wire), which sould give me enough time to get out to the porch with Lady Smith.

Take care, folks. I'm going to put on my happy face and greet my first class in a few minutes. Five-paragraph essays will take my mind off this morning's unhappy events.

Buster 52 - It's not a coon. I've caught the dogs on the property several times, but each time they've managed to get away. We have a lot of coons and possums (and skunks, too) hunting the brush piles at night, but so far I haven't had foot prints for those critters around the pens. There's so much mud, still, that I could see clear prints, dog prints, in circles around my pens.

sjarvis00 - Not a problem. The kids have already done the work. The essays are already written. We're looking at overhead transparencies of parts of the essays and discussing ways to improve content, flow, and coherency. We're getting prepared for the writing portion of the EOI that's given in April.

Never anything else. 5 to 10 per test and he wanted to make sure you worked the whole hour. neadless to say I was pretty good at short essays and answering questions in tht form when his class was over but I hated writing essays from that point forward.

Morning All!
It was pretty out this morning. Hope everyone gets a chance to see the snow on the trees before it melts. It is lovely out right now.

Well TGIF if there ever was one. This has been the longest, craziest week and I am ready for the weekend. Today we are having our Valentine's Day party so the kids are excited. Hopefully they do not go totally nuts today.

Al you have to get your truck fixed. What is it doing? Let me know, surprisingly with all my talents car repair seems to be one of them. Probably since I have been driving junkers most my life and have been so poor I could not afford to pay others to fix said POS.

Well the kids will be here soon and I have to go cut apples.
