Well our first dbl wide had barn tin around the bottom, this one has a block foundation!!! We moved up in the double wide life!! I love our house, it has a fireplace that I can use as a brooder and a den that is great for putting incubators in when the wife will let me!!

Hey Q! I have been busy this last week with school and haven't had much time. I had a killer take home test that was due last night. It about put me over the edge. I really dislike tests, but I definitely do not like take home tests. I would rather have the in class that only take an hour and then you are done. Not the take home ones that can take over 80 hours to complete.

So today I got to go out and play in my gardens and yard! I got strawberries, rhubarb, asparagus, some red onions and lettuce planted.

remember this? it is what it looked like out my front door a little bit more "spring" than it is now!

I don't have a garden anymore....not sure if I am happy or sad

evening folks!

Just some rain here & wind, been that way all day. Took the new hatches to my uncle so I now only have 4 babies. Yep Madison talked me into keep 4. I believe 2 of them to be partridge cochins (standard). Anyhoo, with any luck I will have more this weekend. I really want some of the blue americana that I got in fletcher.

Les if your out there I got the incubator to keep the same temp on both levels.

No I am still waiting. My work schedule has been really hectic lately. i am just dying to break out the bators. I really want to wait until we move, but I want something to take to POOPS. DH said absolutely no more birds brought into the house. He said nothing about pre-birds already in the house, ie: eggs. I'm headed to the tub. I'll be back in a few minutes.

All I really have to hatch now is RIR and Barred rocks, I have marans that are due to hatch any time, I am waiting for my standard light Brahmas to start laying good and may have a contact on some welsummer eggs, I just wanna see the quality before I get my hope up!!

It is amazing what 15 minutes in a 125 degree tub will do for a person. I feel brand new.

I was really hoping my Serama would be laying in time for POOPS. She still has a pink comb, not a bit red. She is 5 months old now. I wonder if she will ever lay and egg. My guineas haven't started laying again either. My RIR and BSL are laying like crazy. I get a couple of duck eggs occasionally. I think I'm gonna start up the bator this weekend. I guess I should get it plugged in tomorrow, so it will be ready by Sunday. Maybe I'll wait until next weekend. I need to schedule it to a time I will fell like dealing with them. Lately I've been going to bed around 9:00 and am still worn out.

My guineas started laying this past week or so. The challenge is in finding their eggs. I need to convince hubby to let a pile of them accumulate before we remove them to the incubator - the same way with the ducks ...... otherwise they move them to a new hiding place the following day.

Are the mothers all Brown Leghorns?

Yes, there are more hens running with that group, but even if more of them were laying, their eggs are not white, and I only hatched white Large Fowl Eggs. So the mother would have to be be one of my pretty Brown Leghorns, and the dad my Blue Ameraucana.

Good evening all....does anyone that's going to Blanchard this weekend want any black sex links or RIR chicks? I just hatched them out yesterday. If not I plan on putting them on Craigslist. Please let me know ASAP. I have more chicks coming pretty quick and I will need the room.
